1. Are we really going to turn what should be a sure win into a loss?
Because that would also be inevitable should this come to pass.

4. don't think so
Obama would not be a good choice for VP for Hillary. Brings nothing.

Edwards would be a decent pick for VP but he probably wouldn't accept VP slot again, but maybe he would if he was promised support for a run in 2016, who knows.

8. I think Clinton and Edwards look good together
Both blonde and they complement each other well. And Edwards has the charm so he can soften Hillary's hard ass image up a bit.

13. It's a good thing you won't have to worry your brain with that...
Edited on Mon Jun-18-07 02:57 AM by larissa

HRC won't be needing to pick ANYone...

We love ya. But hey, we're going with a proven WINNER. And not just in MA, NY, CT or NJ. A winner that can take Montana, Ohio, and a good majority of the nation.

5. Clinton-Obama or Obama-Clinton will never happen
Why? Let's face it: we aren't going to go for two "firsts" at the same time. There are other reasons why such a ticket will not occur but this makes such thoughts DOA.

10. I'll go with "possible outcome" but not "inevitable result."
All sorts of odd doings could transpire between now and the early primaries.

Al Gore is likely to become an increasing presence in discussions of the race for our nomination. I expect him to enter the race in mid-autumn.

If he does I believe he will place well ahead of Senator Clinton in the Iowa caucus and win the New Hampshire primary shortly thereafter. If he should win one or both of those early contests, he will be the nominee in Denver.

11. BULL---------CRAPOLA

That is YOUR opinion Yorga...

Yes, I do see Clark in the picture as VP... or if he jumps in soon, as president...

But in either case, I forsee a different second nominee in one of the two positions.

Sorry ~~~

12. it's a possibility
To win, Hillary needs record turnout with women and blacks. Obama on the ticket may boost black turnout. She may also get "blackmailed" in a way into picking Obama by black political figures who may feel offended if Obama isn't put on the ticket.

But most likely, the ticket will be Hillary-Richardson.

With Hillary, the deep south is gone with the exceptions of Florida and Arkansas.

Richardson brings us New Mexico easily. He also helps significantly in Arizona, Colorado, and Nevada. All states where demographics are changing rapidly and should be in play for 2008.

... experience make him someone to at least put on the short-list.

You're right about the other half of that calculation though..

(edit to say: sorry 'bout the typos. It's getting late! )

17. unlike most people here,i don't hate Hillary,
and i'm not in love with Barack.
it just seems to me that front-loaded primaries coupled with huge leads in fundraising are leading to the ticket i describe.
there will never EVER be a brokered convention ever again.

19. I don't hate ANY of our candidates either...

I know which ones that I think can't possibly gather enough electoral votes~ (IMO: Our current candidates who could NEVER win enough votes in the reddest of red America are: Kucinich, Dodd, Gravel, and Clinton.

I think any of the remaining four can win even in RED parts of America.

And maybe I'm in the same boat as you ... I haven't selected which candidate that I'll send to yet either.

But I don't hate ANY of our candidates!!

21. I see only one thing as inevitable
And that is: an intense, massive, and blatant attempt on the part
of the Republicans to disenfranchise as many Democratic voters as
possible. It tipped the balance in their favor in 2000, 2002, and
2004. It also kept the Democratic margin of victory in 2006 down
from what it would have been. It is a tried and true formula for
power, and they are addicted to that.

Bobby Kennedy, Jr. is spending a LOT of time on this issue, and
we need to remind John Conyers and Henry Waxman with a LOT of email
and snail mail that it MUST not be allowed to happen again, and that
we demand prosecution of those responsible for it's having happened
in the recent past. Bobby won't be running for office, but he is neither
remaining silent nor staying inactive on the subject. He feels as
passionately about this as he does on environmental issues, which is
what he teaches at Pace Law.

This is not a side issue, it is crucial to the survival of the country
as a democracy (or something close). If the Republicans continue to be
allowed to manipulate election results, we could run Jesus and St. Peter
against Deputy Dawg and Satan (any resemblance to the current administration
is NOT coincidental) and still lose another "close upset."
