rubber stamp republicans blocking democrats in the senate.
is the country really disappointed in the entire congress or just the rubber stamp republicans blocking everything in the senate? i blame the republics not the democrats.
headlines saying democrat controlled congress failing voters are misleading. we are trying but the pukes are blocking everything.

1. But with nearly the same numbers, when in the minority, the Dems
didn't block shit.

repugs were in charge. the repugs did not have to get the 60 votes needed to override a veto like the dems do now. in order for the dems to prevail now, they need some republic congresscritters to vote with them. the republics never needed any dems to vote with them.

we need more dems in congress.

7. The problem is --- the republican media knows this
but are spinning the results to favor the republicans. They must obey their masters.

8. I think I have a great idea!
Sorry to say, I disagree with your point somewhat anyway. The Dems haven't used the bullying, creative tactics that Rove, I mean the GOP jerks used over the last few years & it would have helped. Pelosi & Reid seem to think that bi-partisan means the Dems have to cave in. I would interpret bi-partisan to mean "we've got a majority & we will make you look like idiot buffoons if you don't stop kissing *'s ass".

But I digress. What if Pelosi & Reid could convince another 7 or 8 Repugs to run for president in 2008? If they have to fly business class on public air transport, they'd be tied up in security lines for hours and sitting on runways all over the country. They wouldn't be able to get back to DC to vote, so the Dems could sweep a lot more through & maybe even have a veto-proof majority once in awhile! Also, encourage them to travel to the Mid-east and down Mexico way! It works with McCain!

10. Sham fights are met with the disdain they deserve.
Edited on Tue Jun-19-07 04:18 AM by pat_k
It's their failure to impeach Bush and Cheney that is driving their numbers through the floor.

They have been pretending -- to us, and perhaps to themselves -- that something short of impeachment can stop this outlaw White House. Reality is a harsh mistress. Until they get serious about impeachment, whatever they do, the bushcheney steamroller will just keep rolling over them. They will keep proving their impotence to the American people. Their "efforts" will be met with increasing disdain.

They promised a REAL fight. They can deliver a REAL fight. They can fight to impeach and remove.

Win or lose, it's the ONLY fight that means anything. It is a fight that will give focus to the nation's outrage.

They can get real, fulfill their duty to "support and defend", and gain support. Or they can keep up the pretense, be derelict, and lose support.

It's really that simple.
