Nader? Nada
Back in 2000, things were different. Ralph Nader - running as the Green party candidate - managed to win the sliver of the votes that probably denied the US presidency to the world's most famous environmentalist, Al Gore. Gore went on to win an Oscar for An Inconvenient Truth. Nader went back into his box and wrote letters to Michael Moore telling him he was too fat.

1. Actually, I very much doubt Nader got that almost 100,000 votes in Florida
But he was a helpful idiot - allowing the stolen Gore votes to be shifted in other directions.(not unlike unknowns in the California recall found thousands of votes they didn't know how they got)
But his attitude towards Moore (who supported him at the time) speaks volumes.
His famous last words in 2000: "Why don't we throw a coin?" (on the Florida disenfranchisement by the GOP). So far no fan of his was able to 'splain that one away.

2. Nader suffers from his own form of Attention Deficit Disorder. He doesn't
think he gets enough.

4. You got that right...with a side helping of Delusions of Grandeur.
His campaign motto this time around should be "There's No Fool Like An Old Fool."

5. 2.75% of the vote in 2000
Edited on Sat Jun-23-07 02:20 PM by CreekDog
I think 97.25% got the point about Nader.

In 2004, that number was 99%.

Can't stand the guy. He wrote a letter where he said that environmental activists who didn't support him were basically stupid and/or brainwashed. Perhaps they just made up their mind that he wasn't a good candidate.

8. He was already microscopical in 2004, yet MSM, polls included him always
He wasn't even registered as candidate in all states. There were a few candidates potentially cutting into W's numbers for a change - with a national registration - conservatives, GOP - never ever were these people mentioned in polls, commentary. Only Nader.

7. "A great ecological catastrophy will be a good political thing for the Green party"
he said in an interview in 2001 to LA Times. Some people voted this guy over Gore - a guy who would see our planet gone for his immediate benefit....
