John Kerry should keep a (very) low profile during 2008
Yes, John Kerry could damage our Democratic nominee for president. Just by showing his face on some news program, people will be reminded of John Kerry, the flip flopper, and more importantly, the loser. Let's face it, John Kerry is looked upon as a loser by the majority of the American people because of 2004. The Democrats don't need the people to think of them as losers in an important year when they need the votes so John Kerry should keep a low profile and not appear on media programs during the election in 2008. Maybe go wind surfing or something, or take an extra long vacation on Martha's vineyard. Please.

1. I think your post is unnecessary.
The guy kept a low profile when he was running.

11. Great point
Didn't he star in those swift boat commercials?

Didn't see much of him besides that.

I think he should put himself out there for as much media abuse as possible so that the inevitable MM attacks on the Democratic nom are partially deflected...

3. John Kerry SHOULD show his face!

To remind people that life would be much nicer if he
had been in office instead of that quack. Where the hell
do you get the idea that "the majority of the American
people" look upon John Kerry as a "loser". The majority
of the american people look at Bush as a criminal and a
quack of a president. The majority of the american people
can't stand Bush. Sorry if that hurts.

6. He'll be useful for GOTV efforts
Like any other big-name Democrat. Should he have a high-profile in the campaign? Maybe not. But I do hope he is engaged and not shut out of the process.

12. Kerry is running for re-election.
I doubt he will keep a "low profile." In fact he has been speaking out quite a bit since the 2004 election, on Iraq, on energy and environment, and on topics of importance to the netroots, like net neutrality.

Where is your source for what "the majority of the American people" think about John Kerry? My experience with the people I've talked to, is just the opposite of what you say. Generally they think he is a good man that lost through the gullibility of the electorate to be manipulated by the M$M.

19. Ever
That's why I gave him $50 bucks a few weeks ago with a big smile on my face. No other Dem would get that reaction out of me while I gave, I assure you. There's $50 toward Dem causes that I may not have given to anyone else, at least not so cheerfully.

He'll be working for us, I assure you, and to end the war.

Meanwhile the Republican press will find ways to say shit about us anyway.

So, I say, fuck that. He deserves more respect than you're giving him in your OP.

26. heh ... the next cup's on me ... no decaf for you!
see if this wakes you up some ...

we do not need anyone to remain silent; we need them to see the issues clearly and fight against corporate dominance of our government. i would like to see Kerry and others point their fingers directly at our real enemy ... here's a hint: it's more than just the republican party.

Democrats, especially liberal Democrats, need to make the care and feeding of fundamental democracy their first order of business. We cannot make progress on ANY issue, be it the Supreme Court, health care, peace, global warming or anything else until our government and its processes put people before profits. we have to take mega-corporate interests out of our electoral process and out of our legislative and policy processes.

Calling for silence from those who MIGHT be strong voices and worthy leaders is nothing short of suicidal. I don't want Kerry to be silent; I want him to be louder and stronger. It's time we got a little less be campaigning for various offices and a little more busy campaigning to save the country. The truth is the latter might just aid the former. Some don't seem to understand that yet.

29. WRONG. He should campaign and talk about fair elections and election fraud..
No Dem has any reason to cower in the face of these criminals, unless indicted for corruption like so many Rs.

Kerry can contribute a lot, especially if a swiftboat action is undertakan. And, Kerry might be the VP candidate!!
