About the tit-for -tat that is going on here.
If the MSM was devoting this much effort to covering mud slinging, we'd all be up in arms. While people are devoting time and effort to parse out every detail of the other person's candidate's life, there is little discussion of the various goals and proposals. A certain amount of anyone's voting decision is based on an appraisal of the candidate's character. Another part is based on appraising how closely the candidate agrees with you. How about more information about how candidate J approaches the health care issue and whether candidate K is talking about leaving troops in Iraq and if Candidate L has the ability to push through the programs he's proposing?

As for polls, I think it's been established that this is a real race and not a coronation. Let's give them a rest for a while and learn more about the candidates.

2. Well, that's the problem here, isn't it --
we're nowhere near close to primary time.

3. Nasty can be good, I'm all in favor of nasty . I like to see people arguing
politics. It's arguing over the wrong things that gets to me. I don't want to hear about campaign techniques, I want to hear what candidates are offering. If a candidate has a strong message and gets it out in front of people, no one is going to care about anything else. Everyone knew that Nixon was behind the Watergate burglary but they didn't care because Nixon was so good at selling his message that McGovern was some kind of nut and his unspoken message that Civil Rights activity was headed to the back burner. I still can't believe that anyone seriously thought Reagan was in charge, but they were content with his message, whatever it was. (I was never able to watch Reagan more than a minute at a time.)

To me, the only two questions are

1. What is the candidate's message?

and

2. Is that message getting out?

4. Pissin' in the wind, friend, because..
the very people who should take your advice are the very ones who won't.

Been through this before where the gasbags, trolls, keyboard warriors and wannabes drowned out serious discussion, and I don't doubt we're in for it again.

Just thank whatever deities you believe or don't believe in that Giuliani is a Republican, because if he was on our side this place would rip itself into tiny shreds before burning them.

It'll be almost as bad if Gore does decide to run.
