Holy Joe (DLC-CT) Launches Unprovoked Attack On Harry Reid On Right-Winger Bill Bennett's Show
Edited on Tue Jul-10-07 03:47 PM by draft_mario_cuomo
I can't wait until January of 2009 when we can tell Holy Joe to cheney himself and join the Republican caucus...

==By Greg Sargent and Eric Kleefeld | bio
What a guy. This morning, Joe Lieberman went on right-winger Bill Bennett's syndicated radio show — and in those safe conservative confines, Lieberman went out of his way to bash Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid.

In the midst of a long tirade against anti-war Senators, Lieberman brought up Reid on his own, without any sort of prompting or even any mention of Reid from Bennett. We obtained audio of the show from the members only section of Bennett's Web site. Check it out:

Here's what Lieberman said:

"You know, Harry Reid said a while ago that the war in Iraq is lost. It's wrong. It's not lost. In fact, I would say we're beginning to win it. We've turned the tide with the new strategy. And in fact, I cannot conceive of a circumstance in which American forces would lose the war in Iraq, on the ground in Iraq. If we lose it, it's gonna be lost here at home, in a different kind of war for public opinion and political support."

It's harder to know what's more remarkable here: The fact that Lieberman said that he "cannot conceive" of even the possibility that American forces might be losing the war, or the fact that Lieberman launched an unprovoked, gratuitous attack on Reid.==

2. It's 'going to be lost at home"? That's pretty nervy, coming from Joe the Draft Dodger.

3. With the Madam scandal brewing we may not have to wait that long
All we need is for one bimbomb to go off in a repug senators face and force him outa office in a blue leaning state and Joe loses any pull he has.

5. Was Lieberman always a moderate?
I really didn't know much about him until when Gore mistakenly chose that turncoat for his running mate. I want to say the republicans have something on him.

6. He ran to the right of Republican Weicker in 1988...
And was endorsed by the National Review, since Weicker was fairly liberal for a Republican.

Lieberman's record in the 90s was that of a moderate Democrat. In the 2000s, it's been that of a DINO or a moderate Republican.

That's how Joe referenced Iraq on CNN just now ~ what a lowlife! He's a traitor to his party and to his country imo.

(And, before anyone gets confused, I'm not the slightest bit anti-Semitic ~ just don't believe that our country should be used to fight the wars of other countries. Our interests must come first, and that means working diplomatically with like-minded factions in Iran.)

8. Harry Reid deserved to get bashed by Lieberman
AFter all he and Schumer did nothing to help Ned Lamont and gave Lieberman a standing ovation when the worm returned to the Senate after winning re-election.

I won't defend Reid from Lieber-worm.

I agree..I can abide a wide variety of opinion in the party as I think we are stronger when Democrats are in control...but once someone like Lieberman stops supporting the Party, I stop supporting him (as I did last November). I know we need him to keep our majority until next year, but if we do gain seats I say boot him out of the caucus as soon as possible afterwards...

10. You stopped supporting Lieberman last November?
"but once someone like Lieberman stops supporting the Party, I stop supporting him (as I did last November)."

So, you were not in favor of Lamont, the Democratic nominee?

Just asking.

13. Just curious, because you said November...
And Joe clearly stated his disrespect for the primary voters as early as July 2006.

I'm sure you must have been a big Lamont fan.

He has one goal ~ to make sure we bomb Iran.

I hope Michael Moore is right in predicting that people won't be so quick to fall for this newest "boogie man" bit.

16. Notice also how when the hard-core 20% finally admit that this
war has already been lost, it won't be their fault, it won't be Bush's fault.

It will be OUR fault.

Nice touch there, Joe.

17. Fox News "Democrats."
Lieberman is simply the logical advanced state of Vichy-democratism. It drives some of its victims mad and they become like Zell Miller. Others simply wallow in moral filth like Lieberman.

18. Lieberman also wants to vote for a republican president
He said he will consider voting for the republican nominee in 2008.

Joe Lieberman is going to enter Zell Miller terrority eventually I predict. Go for it Joe! Maybe he will be a featured speaker at the 2008 republican national convention
