Hiring Prostitutes acceptable behavior for Democrats
Some little sanctimonious prick "official" of the republican party in Louisiana (Vincent Bruno) said if vitter did not resign he should join the democratic party because that kind of behavior was accepted in that party.

If every sanctimonious blow hard family values protecting, blastocyte loving christian conservative republican asshole who had a moral failing in their pocket defected to the democratic party, the gop would be in permanent minority status. Be careful what you ask for you sanctimonious asshole.

4. I have a co-worker
who tried to point fingers at the Dems, saying we are just as guilty as the Repubs, just haven't gotten caught. I reminded him that Dems probably do pay for prostitutes, and have affairs. The difference being that as a party we don't walk around with that smug, better then thou, "christian" attitude screaming about gay marriage, extra-marital affairs, abstinence, etc.

I reminded this person that Vitter screamed for Clinton's impeachment, and has spoken against gay marriage and for the sanctity of hetero marriage. Therefore he is a hypocrite!

Repubs give me a headache!!

11. I look forward to the fake outrage
if a dem is on that list. Conservatives spend every waking hour demonizing liberals and blathering on about their sordid sex lives. So if one gets caught on a prostitutes call list, they would be outraged? Hypocrites propping up hypocrites. On a New Orleans call in show yesterday, "its between him and his wife and god." "If the man has confessed to his god, who are we to judge?" Hm, confessing to someone who is not a registered voter in Louisiana? I think the citizens of that state have every right to judge an elected official.

Somewhere in an office in DC, they're pouring over the numbers trying to find an elected Democrat.

5. Could be, but lying to start a war to slaughter hundreds of thousands of innocent people
is not acceptable behavior for Democrats, so Vitter is SOL. Our standards are much higher, even though we don't peer into our candidates's bedrooms.

a situation that already existed. BushCo created a war out of thin air with its lies.

9. I've been telling my repub friends
It's not the sex - it's the hypocrisy. It's also fun because you can make the point that the sin Jesus hated the most was hypocrisy - the story about stopping a group of men from stoning to death an adulteress springs to mind and is very apropos.

I personally have no problem with someone paying for sex, but I also have a sneaking suspicion that when the phone lists are fully investigated, the republicans will far outnumber the democrats, and that's because for the most part, democrats have a healthier view about sex - it's not something naughty and to be ashamed of. When you make something forbidden, you only increase the allure it has and the power it has over you - arch-religious types who deny their homosexuality like Haggard; people who aren't allowed to have sex like priests, etc. Vitter probably falls into the category of just not having an interesting sex life and wanting to get some extra spice that he thinks his wife wouldn't go for. Instead of telling his wife that he wanted to try a new position/get a blowjob/get tied up and whipped or whatever because of how he feared she would react, he went someplace he knew would give him what he wanted.

The northern blue states have a lower divorce rate than the southern red/religious states. Part of the reason must be because the couples are happy with their sex lives. :)

Hey I'm just a liberal heathen fornicator. Blow jobs and whips and chains and spank my naked ass outside. Oh My. Surely a conservative would not be outraged by the antics of a heathen liberal would they?

18. First...you would make them faint with the mention of
HEATHEN! haha So once they tried to save your soul, then they would reform your sex habits. Because Christians don't have sex outside the marriage, or homosexual affairs, or sex with young boys! Oh wait....

Last Christmas, I finally explained to my mother why I don't go to Christmas eve service with her. I am a Pagan, and celebrate the Winter Solstice in other ways. I think she had a clue, because she didn't faint. She just rolled her eyes! haha She still asks if I am "still" a Pagan, my mother believes this is a "phase"....

Actually, in the past I liked the Christmas Eve service, quiet, calming, and gave me time to enjoy nature and what I believe in. But now it is a family candlelight service. Meaning they give burning candles to children to wave around a crowded Church...just makes me too nervous to sit through a quiet, introspective moment.

15. There was a website
that listed over 300 republican sex offenders. And they were just the ones who got caught and resigned from public office or were prosecuted. Just think then how many are out there who weren't. And you will never ever find that many democrats. And the S.O.B. say democrats codeine that kind of activity. By what does he base his report.

President Clinton had consensual sex with Monica, no madam no prostitute. BUT they are the ones who condone this activity. Really.

19. Where there's smoke (or a lot of hot air) there's fire...
The Reps who warn of evil ways, who support legislation to "protect" the public from such evil ways, know exactly what they're talking about. They know there are predators of children (or Capitol Hill pages) out there, and that there are nasty belly crawlers out there who threaten the sanctity of marriage ~ they've seen them in the mirror with their own two eyes!
