Hillary Clinton...first choice of the young and among progressives...
From Zogby...

The survey shows Clinton has picked up steam, especially among younger Democratic voters. She wins 59% support among those aged 18–29, up 10% since late May. Meanwhile, Edwards has lost significant ground in the same demographic. In fact, lower tier candidate Dennis Kucinich, at 6% among those under age 30, has more support than Edwards in that group.

Clinton has also maintained her base of support among moderates, while expanding her support among progressives to 36%, up from 31% two months ago. Her backing among progressives appears to come out of Obama’s liberal base, as he has slipped from 35% to 27% in that group.

1. I guess I'm not 18-29.
If we vote for Clinton, we'll have another Republican in the White House. At that point, I'll abandon this country and leave it to the Democrats who thought it would be so kewl to try out a woman as president at a time when this country is still so frikkin' sexist (and one that has been massacred by the right for decades, no less).

3. That must be from some parallel universe...
I haven't met ONE person between 18 and 30 who supports Senator Clinton. I've talked with thousands of people...

Progressives for her... whuh? Where?

I know...diss me...whatever... it's just absolutely perplexing where these polls are coming from.

10. Actually I have...
Have you any idea how many people go to the Madison Farmers Market on Saturdays? 10,000+ or more. That's every week. Any idea on downtown Milwaukee where people flock to during the summer? 100,000+ That's been a couple times. Any idea on a recent visit in New Orleans at an event in the Superdome? 50,000+

Unlike you, I take it to the street. Proudly...and loudly.

And the overwhelming opinion of nearly ALL the people I talk to is a sheer dissatisfaction with the idea of Clintons back in the White House. The only ones who want a Clinton to run against are Republicans. They are licking their chops ot the possibility... and as far as I can do what I can, they will not get their wish.

19. Hillary is not Bill. People keep mistaking that everyone will vote
for her because of Bill. Even the campaign knows better than that. That is why they are having a hard time with African American voters. They thought that was a shoe in because of Bill. It is showing that is not the case.

7. Obama needs to come out fighting
He's basically allowed Hillary a free pass on her initial support for the war. Clinton has gotten away with making the case that her and Obama have similar positions on Iraq. Obama will need to, at some point, take on Hillary directly to gain any ground.

My only fear is that Obama might play nice this time around, realizing that he could have a good shot at winning the presidency in the future.

9. It won't work...and Obama knows it...
Polls clearly show Democrats care very little about the initial IWR vote...they care more about how candidates are gonna get us out...

Obama starts in on a desperate tirade on a 5 year old vote, he will only hurt himself...

Hopefully he is smart enough to realize that

Too stupid to see through the distortion of those with a vested interest in misrepresenting her position...

Unlike the denizens of DU who live in their cozy black and white world, Democratic voters are smart enough to understand the complexity of issues...

25. We understand the complexities of issues....
But we also understand this occupation of Iraq was wrong from day one, it was wrong the entire time that Hillary supported it and that vote of hers does not reflect well on her judgment or morality.

43. We can understand complexity and right and wrong at the same time
Tell me one good reason to support this occupation, just one. The reasons that Charles Manson committed mass murder may have been complex as well, but that does not mean there was any moral justification for those reasons.

22. I'll give you that
All Hillary has done is pander, pander and more pandering before the 2006 election she was a huge supporter of the war and saying it would be wrong to withdrwal out of Iraq no suddenly it's 2007, Democrats control Congress(thank god) and Hillary changed her tune on Iraq..just in time to run for President.

Hillary Clinton represents everything that is wrong is politics sure I thought Bill was a good president with the exception of NAFTA but I know that when I go to the polls i'm voting for HILLARY CLINTON not BILL CLINTON.

Personally i've been a Edwards supporter for the longest time but recently i've been leaning towards supporting Obama. IDW there's something about Edwards I don't like, I can't quite put my finger on it but when I look at Obama I see a fighter, a leader not a follower and a man of integrity.

Turn out in 2004 was about 10% of the electorate for the primaries comparaed with their 17% for the general election. And that was during a record turnout year.
