Why do we need a veto proof majority in both houses and the presidency?
I have listened to too many Democratic pundits and talkers(ie Bill Press) saying we shouldn't yell for impeachment, but instead we should help elect a veto-proof majority to Congress and a Democrat to the White House.

This is like saying we should bulid a much stronger barn door after all the horse have already busted through the last one.

Don't get me wrong, I want our party to sweep the next election, but a veto proof majority really doesn't do us any good after Bush is gone.

We need results now, and we won't get any until Bush and Cheney are driven from office.

IMPEACH!

4. We could probably impeach now...
but how do we get to the next step - conviction in the Senate? An impeachment that doesn't result in conviction doesn't solve anything.

5. Excellent point. I am not without reason.
We need to have concrete evidence to get a conviction, and even then I'd have my doubts. Impeachment without conviction would not be a failure, though.

6. After the crimes of this malignant bunch of depraved deviants is exposed
on TV for a few weeks or months. After the sheepl have been exposed again and again and again to the multiple criminal acts of these slimy bastards.

IF after that and the elections are just months away, if the rePIGlickin senators choose to lay down with Bushilini and his criminal cabal. LET them. They will be swept away to the dustbin of history along with their criminal masters in the next election.

That will not happen if the wimpy spineless "Vote Counters" continue to give the benefit to the regimen without demanding they pay the price.

7. Another excellent point, thank you.
Impeachment without conviction would most likely lead to a veto proof majority and a Democratic president, not prevent it.

8. and we don't have the votes for removal
what makes you think Senate Republicans are going to vote to remove Bush when they won't even vote for a timeline for withdrawing from Iraq?

12.  And we don't look like weak spineless enablers,
Which is what doing nothing would achieve.

10. the presidency and a veto-proof majority in Congress
will pave the way for an expedient overturning of all the bad policies put in place by this administration without having to haggle with the GOP.

13. Well, It's the only way the US Healthcare system will ever be changed.

But aside from that one issue, it's not necessary. Absolutely, Impeach.
