"Hillary Clinton just gave a speech the other day about her view on the economy. She said we have been an on-your-own society. She said it's time to get rid of that and replace that with shared responsibility and we're-in-it-together society," Romney told the crowd. "That's out with Adam Smith and in with Karl Marx."

1. Am I the only one with no respect for Adam Smith?

Not that I have much for Karl Marx (how how how could he say that the value of an item was the labor that went into it?)but I have never understood the idolatrous admiration of Smith. I keep thinking his name should be Smithee.

2. You're lack of respect is displaced, imho.

Adam Smith saw and wrote about how the "free" market can be manipulated and he supported regulations to prevent that. The Republicans use his name without knowing what he said.
