Lieberman's NH Office- "Hippie Deanies Go Home"

"THE PRESIDENTIAL RACE heats up with the New Hampshire primary — a crucial one for the Lieberman campaign — less than a month away. College students like Caitlin Daniuk, 19, and other volunteers staff the office almost around the clock, campaigning for Lieberman, on the telephone or out on the streets."

More disgusting attacks within the party. I'm a Kerry guy, but I admire the way Dean's run his campaign.

Now Joe's made me sick to be a CT Dem...again.

7. Dean supporters don't comprise any one age group.
I think that is sort of a misconception. There are plenty of them of all ages.

But the sign is desperate.

8. Amen
I made that point to my mom, who yelled- not a Joe guy- that "well, they are hippes...thats who he's appealing to!"

Of course, she hasn't read a thing about him. And, I mentioned, they are way too young to be hippies.

Plus, you know, she WAS A HIPPE! SHE WAS AT WOODSTOCK AND WAS IN THE ANTI-NAM MOVEMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!

11. i hate that when "DEMS" sound like the other side.
That is similiar to signs I saw "counter-protesters" hold at anti-war demos and we know what THEY were....

12. Dean has a huge support base in NH
And they are NH residents. I dare Lieberman to walk around telling NH Dean supporters to "go home". Go back to CT, Joe, the Granite state doesn't need the likes of you.

Oh, and NH residents hippies? bwahahahahahahaha

Vermont has some, but NH? Hippies in NH? NH has basically three types of people. The professional "yuppie" type, "Nascar Dad" types who hunt and snowmobile and people who just want to work, do their thing (whatever it is) and be left alone. Lieberman isn't going to last in NH.

13. Story: Joe Lieberman's Volunteer.
Caitlin has been the Lieberman volunteer for two weeks. Caitlin has enjoyed her introduction to politics.

"It's been great being the volunteer for the Lieberman campaign. The first two days I was one of the two Lieberman volunteers, but Terry left after the attack ads...."

21. This is all part of the "labeling" process.
The opposition has tried hard to hang the "McGovern" label on Dean, and the attacks on him are constant. Not just the attacks coming from other candidates, but the news media is completely on board with trying to destroy Dean. I am an Edwards supporter, but have nothing against Dean. I am already getting angry about the negativity that is successfully being thrown around this election. We have a tough year ahead of us.

27. This is no big deal
I had a good friend, a classmate from college, who spent January 1988 campaigning for Dukakis in NH. Although most folk here probably don't remember it well, it was pretty vicious then, too.

One of the biggest signs they had in their office was one that said:

DICK GEPHARDT
(Before He Dicks You)

Was it a little crass? Yes. Uncalled for? Probably. But it was also pretty funny if you were a non-Gephardt supporter.

Campaigns have been doing this sort of crap internally for years-- probably since the first Roman Senate was elected. I'm quite sure the Dean offices in VT all have an anti-(insert candidate here) sign somewhere on a back wall that they'd rather not admit to having.

Get over it. Politics is politics.

28. Lieberman's campaign is --
-- teetering at best. He has a narrow constituency and apparently, not much of an office manager if he or she permits a sign to hang on the bulletin board like that. The young woman in the photo probably signed on to the capaign with true heart and mind, and she deserves better than what Lieberman's dishing out these days.

Joe, if you're reading this, here's some advice: Don't do a lot of decorating in that new apartment in NH.
