OK .... Here's the 411 from the Hillary fundraiser last night.
We got there around 5:30. The line was down the block to get it. Got in around 6:10 which sucked because I missed most of Barack's part. But I saw him later on m' recordin' machine and he did great.

Cased the joint and found the stage ...



Told the ol' ball and chain ... "I ain't leaving" But figured it was cool to move around for a bit and check out the peeps. Bought some merch and headed back to my spot.


Met these wonderful peeps and just adored them. One of the ladies was right behind me and we were both so excited about Hillary.


At one point while waiting for Hillary to arrive, a lady behind me put her arms around me and hugged me saying "I am so nervous". Trust me, so was I.

The Servico Shh-Shh (Secret Service) formed a line and we knew that Hillary was close. When she arrived the place went crazy. My new home girl got the crowd chanting "Hill-A-Ree! Hill-A-Ree!". It was electric.

Hillary took the stage (and yes I called my mom) and just pumped the place up! That place was on fire! A couple of times she looked into my eyes and I thought I wuz gonna die! As Rosanne Rosanna Danna would say. She introduced Gray Davis who received a thunderous ovation. She gave a wonderful full speech that mixed probably a stump speech and many ad libs.

As she left, all of us reached out to her. She took the guy next to me and my hand and held them for a brief moment and was on her way to greet others.

After she left our area, we chanted for Gray Davis. He came over to us and warmly shook our hands. What a great guy.

All and all it was fantastic!!!

Gray is happy out of public office. But he still gets out there and supports our candidates. He's such a nice man.

I'm telling you, at one point I just stood there and said to myself ... "She is REALLY right here in front of me". I couldn't believe it.

Is that you in the 2nd pic? Hill looks gorgeous, I don't know how she keeps up the energy, day after day, after day. (I don't know how ANY of them do, I couldn't)

I just kept saying to myself ... "Mom is going to love this out fit she has on". Isn't she just beautiful? The picture doesn't show it .. but her eyes are so blue! I just melted when she looked at me.

At that point the crowd was just going nuts chanting "Hil-a-rey! Hil-a-rey!" She seemed so honored and just thrilled. I'm so proud to have been there.

Yes, it's great to be right there in the action.

I hope you do some volunteer work for your candidate and get to talk to people about your passion. That's the best part about this whole thing...getting out and talking to people about the issues. Do it steadily and it becomes addictive.

I've always got into the campaigns. In San Francisco I was always active in the various mayoral races. Angela Alioto and Roberta Achtenberg's races were the best ones I worked on.

When I was just a wee tot (23) I busted my ass off for Mondale/Ferraro in deep dark red Bakersfield, California. I even got threatened!! Loved it!

and the great commentary. You WERE up close! Hillary looks relaxed and wonderful. You can tell, it's effortless for her to be there because she loves what she is doing. There isn't a bit of strain in her face, not even from the marathon of her hectic schedule. I don't know how she keeps up either. Hillary is so dependable. You know, before she begins to state her views on a topic, she's done the homework, put in mountains of time to be well versed on the subject, and what she's telling you is the end result of many factors put in to her conclusions. I am so proud of her representing us....oh, and the T-shirt guy is hillaryious!

If and when Hillary is in my vicinity and I get to see her, I'm going to make a point of telling her, I'm one of her DU supporters that doesn't exist either! :rofl:

Good on you ronny k..It's such a thrill when one of us is there with our candidate. Then bringing first hand excitement home and sharing it with all with us.. Makes me feel like, I was there too. Thanks Again!

I'll try to get to any more events when she's in town.
