He is a king maker. He is not going home to sit on the Lay-Z-Boy. He is going to attach himself to one GOP candidate like a barnacle, he is going to want to be in charge, and he is going to want to win. His best bet is an undeclared candidate. Fred Thompson? Not likely. Even a barnacle wouldn't want to be adhered to that stern...which leaves Newt Gingrich.

The latest Gallup poll places Newt above Mittens and shows McCain falling like a zeppelin over New Jersey. If one is going to be either a king maker or a barnacle, one would not care to choose between Mittens and the zeppelin. (That might be the worst sentence I've ever written.) So I predict that Newt will be Karl Rove's best pal at 5:01 August 31, 2007. Newt will enter the race, and he will have Karl Rove on speed dial.

2. I thought the same thing when I heard the news, but I won't lie....
I cheered myself up by thinking MAYBE he's next on the DC Madam's list. I know, too good to be true.

3. Rove's oil buds will not support a Newt candidacy
after Newt decided global warming was real.

Follow the money.

5. I am placing bets on Mike, I am from Hope, AR to, Huckabee
If that is what Karl is up to.

I am afraid that he may be on to something bigger that he needs to be out of the spotlight for. Something where is coming and going is much less noticeable. Maybe engineering a complete nationwide election fraud or another 9/11.

He may be resigning...but there's no way he won't be influencing Bush's decisions.

8. McCain--he's so pathetic, he would hire Rove to do the same
smear as was done to him and his family. Barring that, Romney--already a Bushie friend.

9. Newt is too smart to hire a failure like Karl Rove.
Gingrich has been tacking rapidly away from the Bushian line lately, because he knows it's a loser for Republicans now. He's no genius himself, but he's smarter than the average wingnut (i.e., he's not extremely stupid).
