CNN/AP: 'Obama girl' upset Obama's own girls
SALEM, New Hampshire (AP) – Barack Obama says Obama girl has upset his own girls.

The Web video of a scantily clad actress pledging her affection for the Democratic presidential candidate has been a hit online, but not in his own home. Obama says his 6-year-old daughter Sasha has noticed news coverage of the video.

"Sasha asked Mommy about it," Obama said Monday. "She said, 'Daddy already has a wife' or something like that."

Sen. Obama, D-Illinois, said he knows the video was meant to be lighthearted, but he wasn't smiling when asked about it in an interview with The Associated Press.

"I guess it's too much to ask, but you do wish people would think about what impact their actions have on kids and families," Obama said.

"This is part of the process of politics that can be difficult, (that) is making sure that your kids and your wife and your family are insulated from both things like this and what I suspect will be at some point some negative campaigning," Obama said.

6. God, the news is worse than some movies
for young children. At a certain age when they can discuss what they see then it is more acceptable, but I find that the news is one of the programs I need to censor sometimes around my very young kids.

As Don Henley said, "Dirty Laundry"

10. It's not developmentally appropriate
Young children lack the complex thinking skills needed to understand what they are watching. At this age they just want to feel safe and shouldn't be exposed to scenes of graphic violence.

Since young children do not comprehend the permanence of death, if they see repeated photos of any disaster, they will think it is happening all over again.

4. The perils of running for president.
Let's just hope Limbaugh doesn't call the Obama girls 'dogs.' I don't plan to take that kind of disparagement silently anymore. I realize it's tough to hamstring the hate-mongers via their sponsors, but it's worth a try. Enough is enough.

7. Well, this is probably the tip of the iceberg...
Running for prez definitely does a number on family life ~ which is probably why great candidates are so hard to find.

8. It's what happens when ignorant people treat politics like sport.
Or like a joke. Or like a game.

Hopefully -- and I've no doubt this is the case -- her parents will explain to her that not all people use the brains they were born with....

11. the problem is only because his daughters are young and don't understand
that it's not meant to be taken seriously but mostly in fun.

but the Obamas have to explain it to their girls which can be uncomfortable. if the girls were older they would just say "ewwww" at the thought of anyone having a crush on dad.
