Did I miss more usurpation of pResidential powers while on vacation?
My sister thought she heard about an attempt to extend the presidential term of office and that it included expanding the options for presidential candidates to include naturalized citizens. (I thought that was old news that had been dealt with already but...) before I caution her on checking a variety of sources including Thomas.gov I want to be sure I didn't miss anything first.

I checked Thomas for "extend presidential term" and Truthout.org and got no hits. I checked CNN and came up with other countries like Russia, Venezuela, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe but nothing on a recent US attempt.

Does anyone remember the push to make "wonderful immigrants like Arnold" pRes and the associated bill that died?

Has that mummified carcass been resurrected?

1. Both of those would take a constitutional ammendment to change
I don't believe even the mighty Junior could change such things without a little help.

2. There was some bill introduced but promptly squashed about naturalized citizens...
naturalized citizens...being allowed to run for pReZ that I did hear bandied around for awhile.

Then Arnold got in trouble with California nurses and various other things around the state and as his popularity slipped the bill died and I hadn't heard any more about it until my sister mentioned it the other day.

I think she's confused or going to some weird blogs that are way out there not sticking to facts but instead pumping their ratings with fear based messages.

3. Hmmmm, what was that other country that elected an Austrian-born leader...?
*rubs chin thoughtfully*

It'll come to me in a minute.
