2. Haven't watched the youtube link yet...I will....but aside from that

I have been concerned for two to three weeks with Hillary's military stance. I don't think she'll end the war as fast as most of us would like....and what is her stance on Iran? She scares me.

17. I have to agree

I am looking forward to someone standing up and saying they are going to bring our troops home, period. Petraeus is about to present a sparkling report about how well the new surge is going, we all knew that before he even set foot over there. She is borderline with her words and I also don't think she would withdraw the troops right away either.

What other changed tactics has there been? The 'surge' is what has changed, so there isn't anything else she could be referring to. Besides that, the al Anbar Sunnis haven't reconciled with Shiites and Kurds, so there's no political progress anyway, and that was the goal of the surge, er, changed tactics.

At the same time, Hillary has accused Obama of being naive. I think Hillary is naive if she thinks Bush's surge is working. Nothing he has ever done has "worked." It's all smoke and mirrors, illusion. The only rabbits Bush has pulled out of the hat were rats in disguise. The only thing he has done well is steal elections.

She's saying that when you're in a war, you don't fight the previous one, you have to fight the "new" one (the one you're in presently) because it's a completely different situation. She's talking about TACTICS.

The real question is what is the "new war" she's talking about? I'd like to hear her say,specifically (for once),what she meant by that.The war or terror? A war with Iran? Pakistan? What?

I haven't read anything after that,so if she went on to explain it could someone tell me what she said?

27. I think she was referring to the idea that a war on transnational

terrorism can't be fought in a conventional way, ie; invading and occupying other countries.

It's an idea that's been advanced before by others - the idea that this "new" war would be more of a police than a military action. That was my take, anyway...

But that isn't what she said. Kerry never dumped bombs like that when he was talking about variations in fighting terrorism. It sounded like she was signaling to these vets that she was on board with the idea that we were going to have to fight lots of ground wars in this war on terror. Kerry never said that.

the pentagon is always fighting the last war, right now they are fighting the vietnam war. Often they cannot face the loss of a war so they will fight on endlessly even starting a war in a new place. This is nothing new, the war of 1812 is said to be the English trying to refight the Revolutionary war to get another result. Actually if you can understand Sen Clinton's code, she is saying we need to pull out and face the fact that we have lost and stop trying to fight the last war and prepare for the war we cannot forsee. IMHO, anyway
