Outspoken critic of Bush sent to Congress

LOS ANGELES - California voters are sending an outspoken critic of President Bush to Congress to fill the seat left vacant by the death of Democratic Rep. Juanita Millender-McDonald.

Assemblywoman Laura Richardson took 67 percent of the vote in Tuesday's special election in the heavily Democratic 37th Congressional District, which includes Long Beach, Carson and Compton.

I was curious and went to her web site, check this letter she has posted out -

Dear Mr. President,
You claim to support our troops, but your lies, miscalculations and incompetence have caused the death and injury of thousands of our brave soldiers, and left our nation less secure in the process. Clearly, the best way to support our troops is to immediately remove them from harm's way. That's why, when I'm in Congress, I'll be a vote AGAINST your failed policies, and FOR bringing morality, sanity and responsibility back to our foreign policy.


1. Immediately and Dramatically reduce our troop presence in Iraq and bring as many of our brave soldiers back home to America as possible.
2. Immediately re-deploy the remaining troops out of major Iraqi cities to secure sites in the north and/or friendly nations like Kuwait.
3. Increase our efforts to find diplomatic solutions to the sectarian conflicts fueling the insurgency.
4. Engage our enemies as well as our friends in diplomacy to achieve lasting and comprehensive solutions to the problems of the Middle East.
5. Re-direct our precious financial, human, and military resources to fighting the REAL war on terrorism: destroying Al Qaeda, capturing Osama Bin Laden, and protecting our vital ports and infrastructure from future terrorist attacks.
