If you haven't realized it yet,.....
Words and good intentions are not going to work now. The corporate power is deeply embedded within our government. The entire American continent is going private. When it's finished, it will be "For Members Only."

The membership fees will be too steep for most of us. They loathe us. We may hate these people (as Malloy says), but no more than they hate us. We are street rabble to them, common riff-raff, and a nuisance. They are systematically weeding out the weak even now. Take strength in knowing you have plenty of company. I very well know this Congress has been a betrayal. This link from 8/20/2007 stokes my fires. Check it out if you will.

1. The glimmer of hope for the future we had in 2006
is fading fast.

2. This Congress has shown its' intent
They have taken impeachment off the table.
They have appropriated new spending for the war.
They have signed onto Bush's spy program, legitimizing the impeachable offenses of his branch and
the defunct Justice Dept.
They threw the populace a few crumbs in a long overdue minimum wage, but they sponsored a lobbyist
reform bill that was laughable.

This 110th Congress will always be known as The Bush Democratic Majority.

4. All true...
How sad that the great victory of 2006 has become the great sell-out of 2007!

3. I'd rather not become THAT cynical just yet.
And if all the talk of kos being a 'hate site' as suggested by some TV entertainment pundits is true, I doubt it be the kos followers throwing the first stones.

5. I'm not buying back into the old arguments.
FDR said that nothing in politics happens by accident and that it is well planned. These compromises haven't been done without full complicity. I'm not saying that we don't have some great Democrats in both houses fighting hard against the grain, but the 110th has some Democrats that need to be swept out with the tide. Where is the fire in them? Where is some passion?

HypnoToad, you have your opinion and I respect it, but I'm not a believer anymore.

Stop the funding! They not only won't do that, but are getting aboard for the next phase. Is Iran next? I think maybe so.

6. How does it bode for us to have
the intelligence gathering of this nation outsourced by the DIA to private firms? How are they going to analyze the intelligence when it comes down to a choice between analyzing it for the general welfare of the people or the general good or the stockholders?
