Hey Tucker, ITS THE HYPOCRISY STUPID. . .
Tucker is on the TODAY SHOW saying that Republicans are unfairly being targeted for investigations into their sexual orientation. This dumb motorscooter does not realize that in the instances where Republicans have been outed it often involves propositioning cops in mens rooms (Craig and Allen)and cruising for young men on the internet (Foley).

Lawrence O'Donnell is holding his own.

1. he has a point
I mean, I don't think Tucker would ever support the GOP investigating a Democrat's personal sex life and using that as a sledge hammer to try and ruin that person's career or maybe even Impeach them. In fact, I'm sure Tucker believes that what happens in the bedroom -- regardless of Party -- should stay in the bedroom and not be used as a political football even long after the alleged event.

Do I really need to insert a sarcasm emoticon with this?

7. Actually, he knows EXACTLY what the issue is...
...but it's his job as a member of the Corporate Media to deflect attention form the real issue, WHATEVER IT MAY BE in order to interject confusion and obfuscation into our lives in an effort to keep us stupid, depressed and buying more cheap, plastic junk that we don't really need.

Why are you watching that crap?

10. Seriously, it's UNAMERICAN to be so loyal to a political party!
I mean, look at the DU. We at DU are about as Democrat as you're ever gonna get - but just look at the in-fighting....!

But THESE guys... GEEeeZE!

I mean, where's CITIZENSHIP? Don't these guys have a DUTY to be citizens before public relations representatives to a given party...?

11. Actually, they have a duty...
...to maximize the profits for the stockholders of the corporations that they represent. That is what they are paid for.

8. Timely Coincidence
This Craig story comes while I'm reading John Dean's book "Conservatives Without Conscience," which above all describes the authoritarian mindset, its symptoms and dangers. Not the least of these is the hypocrisy factor. The rule of conscience takes a backseat to those who already assume to have all the answers. As Dean's book suggests, solid research has confirmed this. For an "authoritarian paradigm" to function, of course, it takes authoritarian leaders and lemming-like, unquestioning, uncritical followers (enablers). In that scenario, hypocrisy is allowed to thrive. It's not a coincidence. Not that it can't happen among Democrats, but it's much more likely to happen among neo-cons. Democracy, at its best, is a much less hierarchical, much less authoritarian system, and true democrats are not as likely to be trapped in this uncritical, "we have all the answers" way of thinking...or attitude. If you haven't read "Conservatives without Conscience," I recommend it, especially the chapters that talk about authoritarian personalities, especially as they relate to politics and religion.

9. You are 100% correct
There is nothing wrong with being a gay person. What is so apalling about these republicans skanks is the hypocrisy. They rant and rave on TV and in the press about the "immoral gays" and then they are one themselves. I think a real gay person should tell them to pick another group to be associated with.

12. Ever notice how Tucker talks out of both sides of his mouth on the issues?
Edited on Wed Aug-29-07 10:20 AM by Major Hogwash
Because Tucker is a hypocrite, too.

On his program last night Tucker showed that clip of Craig castigating Clinton in 1999 as "a bad boy, a naughty boy" and said that Craig was gay. He said it was obvious that Craig was gay from what he said and the way he said it. He said, "Come on, Craig, come out of the closet already."
