Fox News Bashes ‘Desperate,’ ‘Ambitious,’ ‘Single Mother’ Katie Couric For Traveling To Iraq
So how does Fox feel about all the single military moms (and dads) serving in Iraq? Are they too bad parents? I t would be great if Katie agreed to go to Iraq if she could report what was truly going on there WITHOUT the Penatgon stepping in to insure that the American only be told what they deem is the truth.

They say Katie’s a bad mother for going to Iraq to “report” on the war. What does that say about all the mothers who are over there fighting the war, that they aren’t concerned about their children. Way to FOX for your support of the troops.

2. I don't think we'll be seeing Neil Cavuto or John Gibson reporting from Iraq anytime soon

3. Earned 'em a Worst Person in the World award from Olbermann last night
Appears he (although no fan of Katie's himself) acknowledges her right to go where the news is, and perceives a wee bit of hypocrisy in a bunch of armchair warriors like them saying someone ELSE shouldn't go to Iraq because of her single momhood when there are already plenty of women like her over there and they don't have a problem with that.

4. If only Couric could truly report about Iraq war instead of typical snippets from from CNN & MSNBC -
Katie's downfall was accepting scripted news reports and like Bush was pushed out there to simply read what was spoon-fed to her so she could earn her 15 million... I don't believe she has any say in what she must report, who owns NBC, General Electric?

5. Fuck FOX and the chickenshit nazis that populate its "news" theater.
The males are all cowards, the females all whores.
I say round them all up and drop them into Falujah.
Let's see how far they'd get with their toupees, flag pins, boob jobs, and miniskirts then.

7. But they have no problem when she travels to other places?
I don't think they realize how stupid they sound with some of things they say.

8. The bankruptcy of the right is increasingly apparent
Women who do anything more than play housewife are derided as irresponsible. Politicians who talk about universal health care and reversing the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy are called communists. Meantime, their family values standard bearers are hanging out with prostitutes and in airport mens rooms. Have they no shame at long last? Obviously not, which is why even the average American who has been buying their bullshit since Reagan is getting ready to turn on them.

11. But, see, Katie Couric is upper-class.
Therefore she should be home making sure the next generation of condo-speculating MBA's don't miss a single catered playdate. They're the FYOOTURE after all, and it's the MOST IMPORTANT JOB IN THE WORLD (which is why rich people hire so many undocumented nannies at starvation wages to do it).

Working-class women in the military now, they need to pull themselves up by their bootstraps. They're tougher brood mares anyway and they're a dime a dozen.

Sojourner Truth's Ain't I a Woman? speech is still relevant. That "angel in the kitchen" chivalry crap was always only for upper-class white women.
