Rolling Blackouts in California
I guess being a popular actor prevents you from being blamed for rolling blackouts in your state. I may be wrong and may not have paid enough attention to California when Gray Davis was governor, but it seems like there were fewer blackouts when Davis was governor. During Davis' time as governor of California I only heard of the one big incident where there were rolling blackouts. Since Arnold has become governor I have heard of about two different periods of rolling blackouts and one time where downtown Los Angeles lost power. At this point I am trying to find a reason why Arnold is not getting the same criticism that Davis did when the rolling blackout happened during his administration. Was it not Arnold who was supposed to put an end to rolling blackouts? Weren't his policies supposed to prevent rolling blackouts from ever happening again? He was supposed to make California better and fix what was wrong with the state. Maybe I am wrong in that I do not know everything about California, but it seems that things are worse now, that Arnold is governor, than when Davis was governor. So, what are others thinking?

1. Davis was criticized for his dealings with power companies, not the blackouts themselves

I don't think many people here are actually dumb enough to think the Governor of the state has any real control over A) the weather or B) how consumers behave.

4. I was in Cali during the Enroned Blackouts
Davis should have piped up more about how the grid was being screwed around with by Enron. A complicated story, but sad indeed...

A good place to start is to rent the video: Enron: The Smartest Guys In The Room
