The Bush Administration's attempt to put lipstick on a pig
In the last few weeks there seems to be a concerted attempt to rewrite history when it comes to the debacle that has been the Bush Administration. The new book Dead Certain attempts to paint Bush as a man who has made the right decisions at the right time. Another book about Condoleeza Rice has attempted to airbrush the flaws from her stints as National Security Advisor and Secretary of State. Along with the book releases come the media tours in which the authors have attempted to defend Bush and Company from the throngs of callers who beg to differ with the stories the books tell.

Then there are the news articles from the "liberal media." This week we read that Karl Rove tried to persuade pResident Bush NOT to select Dick Cheney as his Vice President. Hmmm. And all this time I was under the impression that Cheney selected Bush as his running mate...

Another article moves the blame for the Harriet Myers nomination from Dubya's slippery little shoulders to those of Supreme Court Justice John Roberts. If this is so then Roberts shows a clear lack of intelligence for a man whose decisions can be the difference between life and death in some cases that come before the Supreme Court.

Now we hear that a new Osama bin Laden video is in the works for this year's 9/11 anniversary. It may not be out in time for the anniversary since the makeup artists can't seem to come up with the right coloring for bin Laden's beard. Hopefully the actor portraying bin Laden will be able to carry off the accent.

It appears that Bush knows that his word is now worth nothing and has decided that the only way to keep from going down in history as the Worst President Ever is to hire a bunch of professionals to rewrite his story in a more flattering light. The big question is does anyone actually think that the public will buy all of this?

1. Like Frobisher in "Damages"
Wow. Just get a ghost writer to tell your
story the way you want it with a fantasy legacy.
