Quick online test. Who SHOULD you support for president?
The test is a "Find Your Candidate" test from VAJoe.com. I have no idea who VA Joe is. But it's the quickest test I've seen like this.

I gotta say, I'm not pleased with my top choice--if only because I've spent a good deal of time on DU disparaging the man. But... gulp... here it is:

86% . . . grrrrr . . Please stop laughing at me.

I'm quite pleased with my next three choices, according to the test anyway.

- 79.25% - 77.36% - 73.58%

Now maybe you're axing, "So, Bucky. Don't you think it's time to give crazy Grampaw a second look?"
To which I would reply, "Someone agreeing with me 86% of the time is NOT proof they're not crazy."

And then I would toss a rock into a pond and stare deeply into your soul.

12. Looks like it
If you look at the right on the results page, 26.20% of respondents end up with Gravel as their top choice. 17.86% for Kucinich. You can fix these kind of polls to say whatever you want. When they don't make their methodology public, it's a sign that it's worthless.

13. It's a no-brainer.
I didn't even need to take the test. But I did.

There is nothing crazy about Gravel. And the "experience" criticism doesn't work. He's an important man. He is "crazy" in the context of a substance abusing nation. We squint into the bright lights of reality.

I know how I'm voting. And it's fairly close to the list we see here.

:D Gravel reminds me of Huey Long and a little LBJ. Kucinich reminds me of the Jesus I was taught to admire and as a child. It's been a long time since then..don't think about people being Jesuses anymore, but Kucinich reminds me of the shepherd. And I can't say I'm a christian, but I was raised to admire this shepherd and I'll never get it out of my system.

41. Kucinich is rated highest for me...
Edited on Tue Sep-11-07 07:28 PM by calipendence
I'm surprised that Gravel and Clinton ranked higher than Edwards.

And then I'm not either. There are many issues that aren't included in this questionaire that really measure how "corporate" the candidate is and how much we want someone who isn't corporate, that I think would rank someone like Edwards higher in our ratings. Here is a list of many that I think were noticeably missing:

1) Public campaign financing..
2) Raising taxes on the wealthy.
3) Reversing the earlier tax cuts.
4) Stopping outsourcing of jobs overseas.
5) Stop "insourcing" of jobs like H-1B Visa and guest worker programs ("citizen path for illegals" doesn't cover this!)
6) Break up the mass media monopoly consolidation.
7) Shut down privatized "mercenary" military forces.
8) Get rid of "corporate personhood" and other corresponding "corporate rights" like "free speech", etc.
9) Election integrity reform (get RID of voting machines!).
10) Increased efforts of halting nuclear proliferation (both for power and weapons).
11) Increase our efforts to help incent efforts to reduce population growth and at the same time halt the spread of AIDS. STOP our restrictions of distribution of condoms and family planning efforts.
12) Stop subsidizing churches through "faith based" intiatives, etc.
13) Support for increased rights of forming labor unions.

That is why you get folks like Hillary Clinton kept near the top. We didn't really have a full "gamut" of questions that separated the corporatists from those that aren't.

56. My order was Gravel, Kucinich, Obama, Biden
I too was surprised to see Gravel at the top of my list. I wonder what would happen if they added Al Gore to the mix? :patriot:
