Poll question: Will Hillary join Obama-Dodd in promising to oppose any funding bill that doesn't include deadline?
Edited on Sun Sep-16-07 09:18 PM by jefferson_dem
Obama has joined Dodd in announcing he will not support any Iraq funding bill that doesn't include a deadline. Of course, that's Edwards' position as well even though he doesn't have a vote. Do you think Hillary will promise the same?

She'll use this debate as a gift-wrapped triangulation opportunity, with both eyes on the General Election.

4. If Dodd weren't doing it...
she'd make a crack about how naive Obama is.

5. Not sure. It's something that sounds great but
I think she'd evaluate the full repercussions first.

10. Edwards said in his speech he favors the idea.
I think Hillary should join forces with Dodd and Obama on this one.

14. Yes...he said it his tv commercial ad after Bush spoke last week
And its mentioned at Kos that Edwards has been saying it all month:
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2007/9/14/112151/432

There were several threads here about it too...but my dial up makes it heard to search :)

I still think Hillary would look into all the pluses and minuses before jumping on the bandwagon...

6. ironic, innit?
They've all been funding the war all along - and now, suddenly, they decide to take the stand Dennis Kucinich has held all along.

7. What in the devil is wrong with you people she already has voted
AGAINST the first bill and said she would vote against funding the war. Since Obama is ringing his bell again about something MOST of the democratic senators have done and said,,,,,, what makes him different.

8. If you want to end the war, defund it! Everything else is a gimmick!
Do we want to feel good, or do we want to really do something for real?

12. Good point. The choice is simple, occupy Iraq for 10+ more years
or defund it. Eventually defunding will have to occur to end the occupation. Anything else continues it.

They won't defund it though, and I doubt they will even put in a timeline. If they do, it will be to simply draw down a few troops as a gimmick to try and politically not look so impotent.

16. Is it poll-tested?
If not, it will be. You'll have the answer once her campaign has conducted the appropriate analysis.
