4. Edwards is the vote for the nuanced progressive
I still have my heart with Gore and Kucinich, but there is much to be said about Edwards for the liberal or the true populist.

The one thing that these two groups can agree to is the virulency of the corporate wing of the party and their narcissistic stranglehold on "leadership". Many would argue that Clinton and Obama represent the corporate candidates who threaaten to take the nomination. Edwards, being quite an "electable" fellow is also the biggest proponent of populism and peace that has a real chance of winning this nomination, thus denying the reigns of power in the party to the old guard and introducing a candidate that is likely to get the votes needed to win (from disaffected Repubs and the left).

Which is why I will vote for Edwards if he is within striking distnce of the other two. I want corporate democrats out of the illusion of "running the party" by virtue of having a representative in the White House. Their version of the neocon philosophy is not welcome...at least not by me.

By the way, I voted Kucinich in the last primary. Dean was already out of it, and Ohio should have a lot of Kucinich votes (and Kerry had already zipped it up). We are his home state, after all. I have never lost sleep over that Kucinich vote.

6. Well stated...

I'm still hoping for Gore to get in at some point.

But at this point, Edwards is my "nuanced" choice as you state as being the best option for us to get a progressive leader that will not be subservient to Korporate America...

And BTW, even though Dean had already pulled out by the time we could vote here in California in the primaries, I STILL voted for him then (even though my vote didn't count then as I was a registered indy then).

I registered as a Dem the same day that Dean officially took over the DNC. Had to send a message then. I'd like to send a few more. An hour or so ago I told the DCCC who was calling me begging for money to take a hike until they get their priorities right and put impeachment back ON the table and DLC corporate subservience OFF!

7. Remind them that your vision in the party doesn't match...
with Rahm Emmanuel's (who is in charge of it and uses it to marginalize progressives and install former Repubs and DLC-types).

That'll piss 'em off.

8. Oh I did have some comments about Rahm!
And told him I didn't like his leadership of keeping us tied to corporations and the DLC!
