Letter from the RNC: "Democrats are hoping that our troops fail"

I got a letter from the RNC today. It appears that all they have to run on in 2008 is bashing the "Democrat leadership." That's it. That's the guts of the letter. Nothing about lower taxes, morality, abortion, anti-gay amendments, or family values. Just that the democrats have a defeatist agenda. Can you say, "Rudy's endorsement letter?"

Monday Morning

Dear Friend:

If you believe America's national security should not be kicked around like a political football (ah, those MANLY metaphors!) it is vital that you renew your membership in the Republican National Committee today (today was underlined).
The DEMOCRAT (capitals mine) leadership believes failure by our troops in Iraq-the central front in the war on terror (gosh, how did Iraq BECOME THAT Mike?)- is essential for them to win the elections in 2008.

(snip) - paragraph bashing Reid and James Clyburn

It is unconscionable (underlined) that Democrat leaders are hoping for our troops to fail to gain political advantage.

(snip) sentences bashing Hillary and Obama

The RNC needs your support to get the facts about the Democrat's "surrender and defeat" politics past the LIBERAL MEDIA (what???? they must mean one guy - KEITH!)

Please send an urgent contribution - bla bla blah.

That meme is old and worn out. Only the botton 25% believe it. Calling attention to their dismal failure in Iraq by saying the Democrats want us to fail is just ironic.

Talking points aren't necessarily true because they are repeated like a mantra.

who is actually supporting the demented policy that is killing our troops??? I think that's the repubs. This "hoping for failure" crap, even if it were true, doesn't kill. The Republicans have become very efficient on actually making our kids dead.
