Kucinich 'seriously thinking' about forcing vote on Cheney impeachment

http://rawstory.com//news/2007/Kucinich_seriously_thinking_about_forcing_vote_0928.html

Rep. Dennis Kucinich says he is so concerned about what he sees as the Bush administration's push for a war with Iran that he is considering using a parliamentary measure to force the House of Representatives to vote on impeaching Vice President Dick Cheney.

"We're preparing for another war, and they're going to destroy America," the Ohio Democrat said Thursday on the Ed Schultz show. "We have a government in place right now that has to be challenged. I'm seriously thinking about calling a privileged resolution on impeachment of the vice president and forcing a vote on the floor of the House."

7. I hate that most Democrats won't give Dennis a serious look...
Every time I post about him I get hit with the old .. He doesn't stand a chance routine.... He is in fact one of the few Democratic candidates that actually gets it right 90 percent of the time...

So We get stuck by default with Hillary who I say can't win in the General Election... She is the worst possible candidate for the Democrats to put forth...

But I have been let down so many times by the Democrats I guess I'm gettin used to it.

21. Well, I certainly give Dennis my ears and eyes and as we get closer
...to the primaries that may very well change as more and more democrats begin to see through the illusion that the present Democratic top runners keep putting out there.

25. They won't give Dennis a serious look beacuse.....
They are blinded by media propaganda telling them who to vote for and who has a chance or not. Its really that simple.

10. Stunt??
Kucinich: SCHIP Bill Fails To Provide Health Coverage For Legal Immigrant Children

“I cannot support legislation which extends health coverage to some children while openly denying it to other children,” Kucinich said. “This legislation is woefully inadequate: and I will not support it.

Mean while.....

(WOMENSENEWS)--So who's got the most women-friendly health care plan?

Is it Hillary, Obama or Edwards?

Answer: none of the above.

Only Dennis Kucinich offers what women really need: single-payer, universal health care.

Yada, yada,yada...

...The trio of plans by Hillary, Obama and Edwards are also equally hard on women by requiring some level of out-of-pocket payments.

12. Yes a stunt...
Forcing an impeachment vote is a stunt...and a gift for Republicans

And his vote against SCHIP...in which he was the one and ONLY member of the Progressive Caucus to vote against it...was a disgrace...

13. I wonder if people talked about him like this when he was the...
only one with enough courage, determination and conscience to stand alone, vote against the war and every funding bill and say he wouldn't because it was about oil? We need to embrace our true politicians that speak for the people instead of tear them down. Our country would be in a better place if some of the others could have stood for up for the American people and the innocent Iraqis but I guess too much money was floating around. The reason our government, politics and country are all heading in a downward spiral is we the people fall for the career politicians games and ignore the very few that stand up and give us a voice like they were elected to.

14. Kucinich does not have the courage to expend any of his political capital...
He yaps from the sidelines, not deigning to get his hands dirty engaging in the legislative process, pulling political stunts that he believes will aid him in his Presidential campaign, undermining those who are actually trying to make a difference...

He is not a serious legislator, and will not have a lasting impact on public policy...

16. You belittle him even on trying to save thousands of lives over financial gain too?
Wow! Thats pretty crazy, he was the one person that took a look at the evidence and called it what it was, to me thats trying to do something with policy. The others were better than him, you are correct there. They did change policy and hundreds of thousands of people have died because of their great job at running the government and impacting policy. I will gladly take an honest person that speaks for me than someone that looks to corporations and is driven by financial greed.

18. no worries...
SE just demeans DK whenever they can.

I believe Kucinich has the potential to be the greatest American President of all time! He just needs a little more coverage and a lot more support to get the nod.

I'll be workin' for him...

:)

But i'd take an Al Gore/DK ticket too!

19. I wish more people wanted the government to speak for the people...
but it doesn't look that way. I think the corporations are supposed to continue on their path keeping the wealthy in power and the poor running the physical aspect of the country. We are all slaves to this system and we need a voice. I don't hear many other voices speaking up for the little people.

17. America wants both Cheney and Bush held accountable. Don't you?
Forcing an impeachment will be a gift to us all. If democrats start talking about impeachment and telling the truth about what has been happening in our country...republicans who supported the Bush regime will be forced to jump ship. It will be decades before another republican got elected.

I’m proud of Kucinich for being on the opposite side of the spectrum when it comes to Hillary.

How much money did she take from big pharmaceuticals after she failed reforming healthcare in the ‘90s? And why is it that she wants everyone to have an ID card proving they bought health insurance before they can get hired??? ....I’m sure she’ll keep Bill’s NAFTA in place...it helps her ex-employer Wal-Mart so much.
