Dodd says time helps heal Lieberman split
Article in Newsday

http://www.newsday.com/news/local/wire/connecticut/ny-bc-ct--dodd-lieberman0920sep20,0,274891.story

WASHINGTON - Sen. Christopher Dodd said Thursday time has helped heal the hurt feelings with his Connecticut counterpart, Sen. Joe Lieberman, whose independent bid for re-election last year bruised their longtime friendship.

After losing the 2006 Democratic primary to anti-war challenger Ned Lamont, Lieberman defied party leaders and ran as an independent in the general election to hang onto his seat. The move rankled Democrats who questioned the three-term senator's party loyalty.

Lieberman has said his feelings were hurt by Dodd, a longtime friend who campaigned for Lamont in the general election and filmed a campaign commercial with him.

So how about it?

Anyone here from Connecticut?

11. Federal officials are not subject to recall
Their terms of office are set by the constitution. Thye can only be removed by being expelled.

19. Dodd endorsed the DEMOCRATIC candidate, Ned Lamont
Edited on Sun Sep-30-07 12:15 AM by fujiyama
I think it's silly to hold the fact that him and Liberman are personal friends against Dodd. Lieberman has been working with Dodd for some twenty years in the senate now...

It's not Dodd's fault that Lieberman is a fucking warmongering ass hole.

3. That's understandable. I'm sure Joe has learned from this and changed his behavior
I mean, it's not like he's shutting down investigations of the administration or authoring sub rosa declarations of war against other countries.. is it?

7. The little chickenshithawk
is always whinging about something. Since lieman got back in the senate through the back door he's been nothing but a traitor to the Democrats, Americans, and Connecticutians.

Warmongers are the most hypocritical, bloodthirsty, cowards on the Planet.

6. OK, is Dodd simply saying that liarman has gotten over his hurt
feelings, or is he saying he and liarman have like kissed & made up. If he's trying to say anything positive about liarman, my opinion of him will take a big hit.

9. At least Dodd voted against Lieberman's Iran War Resolution
together with Biden, while Hillary voted for it, and Obama found himself AWOL on the vote.

Let's hope there is another challenge to Holy Joe in 2012.

12. No Dodd...
LIARman is a repuke who continues to hold the majority by hostage with is new "Independent" status, which was support by quite a few Dems even after the fact that WE rejected his repuke ass.

He deserves nothing but condemnation. From us, the nation, and the Democratic Party.

Fuck you LIARman. You warmongering asshole. You bring shame to me and my state. No amount of time can ever heal that!

13. I don't understand Dodd
If I were Dodd (or Clinton, Boxer, or any other Dem), I would have campaigned for him on the condition that he withdraw if he lost the nomination. I still can't believe how Lieberman betrayed our party, and how we stayed silent once Lamont was the candidate.

18. Lieberman DID say he would withdraw
if he lost the nomination. He lied to his fellow party members and ran as an independent instead.

15. Hasn't healed for me....still getting Lamont's emails.
Hasn't healed for lots of folks. I suspect there will be more mails from Ned Lamont. He still works closely with DFA and other groups, and is active for other Democrats.

There is no getting over Lieberman yet.
