Dear Friends,
Apparently, it wasn't enough for nationally syndicated conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh to call American service members who advocate U.S. withdrawal from Iraq "phony soldiers."

http://mediamatters.org/action_center/limbaugh_stations/Two days later, Limbaugh went a step further.
While defending his original remarks during the portion of his program broadcast on American Forces Network to our men and women in uniform around the world, Limbaugh named decorated Marine Vietnam veteran and Congressman Jack Murtha (D-PA) one of the "phony soldiers."
And now we have Limbaugh's latest attack -- an attack you'll have to hear for yourself to believe. (Click Here for Audio)

http://mediamatters.org/action_center/limbaugh_stations/During his show yesterday, Limbaugh went beyond the pale and assailed VoteVets.org for running an ad featuring Brian McGough, an Afghanistan and Iraq war veteran who received the Purple Heart and was severely injured by an IED in Iraq. Limbaugh called the ad "a blatant use of a valiant combat veteran, lying to him about what I said, then strapping those lies to his belt, sending him out via the media in a TV ad to walk into as many people as he can walk into." In the ad, created by VoteVets to challenge Limbaugh's "phony soldiers" characterization, McGough tells him: "Until you have the guts to call me a 'phony soldier' to my face, stop telling lies about my service."
Limbaugh actually compared McGough to a suicide bomber!
Senate Democrats have already spoken out against Limbaugh, sending a letter to Clear Channel -- the parent company of Limbaugh's syndicator -- to denounce Limbaugh's "phony soldiers" characterization.
