1. Oh all of America is betting on Hillary
Hillary will be good for business, as Centrist Democrats tend to be.

I just worry she'll keep up the war in Iraq and/or start a war with Iran.

2. Take That Back!
Edited on Fri Oct-05-07 10:05 PM by MannyGoldstein
It is scurrilous to imply that Mrs. Clinton has any dealings with Sir Rupert and the rest of the crowd at Fox. I'll accept nothing less than a full apology.

7. uh uh. Perhaps not yet in this thread, but the same people who condemn Clinton now...
..defended Dean then. Typical "progressive" faux outrage.

8. I and other people who have studied media and/or worked in media
keep telling DUers all the time: It's not about ideology; it's only about $$$$$$$$$$$$$.

There are people like Murdoch who are in it for the bucks, and it has little to do with morality or ideology; it has everything to do with ratings and $$$$$$$$$.

I studied media on the graduate level and other than a couple of nonprofit PR jobs, I never wanted to have anything to do with it. I understand how the machine works since the Fairness Doctrine was removed during Reagan's tenure.

It's a free-for-all, guys. Civil discourse is dead.

9. Peter Chernin is a prominent Democrat. Click the contribution link.
There are many people who work under Murdoch's huge ownership umbrella who are Democrats -- especially in the Hollywood/entertainment areas.

The Wikipedia link says Chernin's specialty is Fox cable:

Fox Business Network · Fox College Sports · Fox Movie Channel · Fox News Channel · Fox Reality · Fox Soccer Channel · Fox Sports en Español · FSN · Fuel TV · FX · National Geographic Channel (50%) · SPEED Channel · SportSouth · TV Guide Network

This is entertainment, except for the evil Fox News Channel, which I would guess might be pretty much the domain of Roger Ailes.

Other entertainment outlets owned by Murdoch, with employees very likely to be Democrats:

20th Century Fox · 20th Century Fox Animation · 20th Century Fox Television · 20th Television · Blue Sky Studios · Fox Atomic · Fox Faith · Fox Searchlight Pictures · Fox Studios Australia · Fox Television Studios

US broadcast TV Fox Broadcasting Company ("Simpsons," "Family Guy") · Fox Television Stations · MyNetworkTV
