My pick for the best Bush/Cheney clones are Romney/J Roberts.
After all the debates and the usually chorus of "that will never happen", this is the pair we will probably face in Nov 08. IMO.

Will bookmark for future "I told you so".

9. I'll take that as a yes -- you're referring to the Chief Justice.
Care to place a wager?

3. It will surprise me if Romney doesn't get the nomination --
I've been saying this since the first time I heard him speak. He's the country's worst nightmare, therefore their obvious choice. As far as Bush/Cheney clones, I think Romney is already a combination of both Bush & Cheney all rolled up into one...

4. I'm asking: why Roberts? It makes no sense.
John Roberts is in the most powerful position he can be put by the neocon Bushies. For 30 years, he will do the unquestioned bidding of the masters who put him there. Why in the world would they put him on a ballot?

I feel the same way about Romney, but must admit that it's Rudy who is putting all the warmonger neocons on his "advisory" staff. Keep an eye on Rove. Wherever he drifts, that's where the election - if there is one - will be stolen.

7. The next administration will replace 4 or more Justices, why not be in a position the name them?
That is real power!

10. So, John Roberts resigns as Chief Justice to run as VP so he can name justices?

16. That would be interesting -- a Chief Justice running for political office.
If that happens, there is no hope. Seriously.
