Poll: Black support helps Clinton extend lead (big MOE)
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Sen. Hillary Clinton's lead over Sen. Barack Obama, her chief rival for the Democratic presidential nomination, is growing among African-American voters who are registered Democrats, and particularly among black women, a poll said Wednesday.

Among black registered Democrats overall, Clinton had a 57 percent to 33 percent lead over Obama.

That's up from 53 percent for Clinton and 36 percent for Obama in a poll carried out in April.

Among white registered Democrats, Clinton drew 49 percent support, versus 18 percent for Obama and 17 percent for former Sen. John Edwards of North Carolina, the latest poll found.

The question had a sampling error of plus-or-minus 6.5 percentage points.

Subgroup MOE's are always higher but 6.5 should give one pause from reading TOO much into this poll.

1. Obama does as well as Edwards among whites
That's interesting in view of Edwards's point that only he could go into every part of America.

4. It appears that Clinton draws equally well amongst blacks and whites.
The difference between the two groups being that Obama gets the non-Hillary blacks while he and Edwards split the non-Hillary whites.

5. Too bad Sen Clinton wasn't willing to stand up for the disenfranchised Af Am voters
from Ohio in 2004. We had internal machine allocation data indicating that inner city machones were moved out to the Republican suburbs (don't believe me? then I refer you to many articles at Freepress.org on the subject, as well as John Conyers and the House Judiciary Committee Democratic Staff Report on the subject).

As someone from Ohio who witnessed this travesty of justice first hand, and as someone who was so outraged I closed my business of 17 years to work on the investigation and election integrity, I was appalled at the silence of the Clintons (why am I picking on the Clintons? Well you might recall Bill Clinton was a popular Democratic President whose complaints against these outrageous acts would have drawn media attention to the story. What did we get? deafening silence EXCEPT from the CBC, House Judiciary Dem Staff and Barbara Boxer. I've been told by reporters that their newspapers wouldn't allow them to delve into the "abnormalities" since the Dems were remaining silent. So why were the Clintons silent on this? I'd love to hear a good explanation.

Sorry for the rant, but I'm sick and tired of being called a "Hillary Hater" when I oppose not the person but the actions and the folks they surround themselves with ( think Mark Penn & James Carville).
