This is for my fellow Democrats who every four years need a few wake up calls about the true nature of Republican trickery. I've said this before and I'll keep repeating it. The Republican marketing machine is expert at seeding the market with rumor and innuendo geared towards defining the outcome of our Democratic primary.
The 2004 primary is an excellent example that is being repeated once again. You think, no, I don't watch FAUX News. I can't fall for their tricks. But many of you still refuse to admit that they steered the primary away from Howard Dean by spreading rumors that Dean was the one they wanted to run against. Eventually the rumors became "news" with the press jumping on the Republicans want to run against Dean Bandwagon. I heard that from so many democrats back then. "I'm supporting John Kerry because the Republicans would rather run against Dean." Do you really think they'd tell you the truth? Looking back, do you really think they had better swift boat ads ready for Dean? It was Kerry they wanted and you gave them their prize.
So now it begins again. An entire stage full of Republican candidates telling us that Hillary Clinton will be the nominee and they can't wait to campaign against her. Over and over again they tell us we don't like Hillary. Over and over again the press takes up the band wagon and tells us that Hillary can't win because; uh the Republicans have told us so. They know Hillary is the toughest competitor they've faced, all their muck racking over fifteen years has only made her stronger and surprise surprise, when people see her in person they realize their negative preconceptions were wrong. We are not immune fellows Democrats. Tell me something a thousand times over 15 years and my subconscious can't help but store some of it. Take this
poll and let me know if you too believe the repug scum.
And this time they throw in a little bit of bait to get democrats fighting each other. This time the "Hillary thinks she is inevitable" story line keeps popping up too. Can anyone show me a quote where Hillary or anyone associated with the campaign has said this is inevitable? You can't because it isn't true. This too is one of their planted stories begun even before she entered the race.
Hillary is working harder than any candidate to earn every single vote. Hillary knows that early polling means nothing come primary day. The only poll that matters is the Primary or caucus. That's why Hillary has visited New Hampshire more than any candidate. That's why Hillary events are mostly open question and answer dialogs that can go on for well over an hour. I've managed to go listen to nearly every candidate. If you live in a primary state why don't you do the same then make up your own mind?
