Clark has reasons to smile --Arizona Republic
http://www.azcentral.com/news/articles/1228clark28.html

Family, political situations both are going well

Brent Whiting
The Arizona Republic
Dec. 28, 2003 12:00 AM

Energized by good news, both family and political, retired Gen. Wesley Clark was all smiles Saturday as he stumped in Phoenix and Tucson.

(snip)

The senior Clark, a Democratic candidate, told a crowd in downtown Phoenix that the successful delivery was a big reminder of the importance of the nation's health system.

Run into ground

It's a system, he said, that is being run into the ground by President Bush.

"George W. Bush says he's going to fix the health-care system," Clark told a crowd of about 350 people at the Wyndam Hotel, 50 E. Adams St.

"Instead, he's left our health care system in a fix."

Clark, who was making his third campaign swing in Arizona, also was buoyed by a mid-December poll showing him in what workers called a "statistical first place" in the state's Feb. 3 primary against former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean.

2. Congratulations to Wes Clark for his hard work in Arizona
Arizona is an important state in 2004, and with Bill Richardson in the statehouse it is extremely critical for Democratic prospects.

6. Ooops, my mistake!
I should have known considering that until very recently the Pulliam family (Arizona Republic) used to own the local Indianapolis paper.

Thanks!

9. Pulliam family? Are they related to the Quayles?
Because Danny's daddy used to own both of those. In fact, he refused to run the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr as a front page story when it happenned in 1968.

3. People are finally coming around...
Edited on Mon Dec-29-03 01:18 AM by Jack_Dawson
to the only democratic candidate who can neutralize the "war on terror" card that will be played infinitely as the election draws near. 2004 - new year, new attitude, and a citizenry finally paying attention to the election in earnest. Everything favours Clark, Dean push-poll figures aside. It's alllll good. :toast:

4. General Clark is doing an amazing job drawing parallels
Between his personal experience (testifying in the Hague,
becoming a grandfather, etc) and the national and global
situations.

Grandpa Clark...

Woah.

8. I don't think he can be Pres AND SecDef
I mean, he probably COULD (he's that smart) but I think running the country will be enough for The General. :dem:
