I hate America...

It seems to me that this bumper sticker ideal of America, Love It or Leave It, is taking on more ominous tones as of late...

The whole Fox line-up, most of blab and scream radio and a lot of the print media has somehow made one of our basic freedoms, the idea of free speech, equal to being anti-American...

The whole premise that even though I don't agree with your views I respect the right for you to voice them has morphed into a my way or the highway mentality...

It started back with Newt and his infamous speeches to an empty House chamber and came blasting into the living rooms of America when GOP congressional staff descended on Florida to practice their own brand of thuggery by intimidating ballot counters in Florida...

It seems to me that the people who really hate America are those who can't quite grasp the idea that Free Speech is important to a dynamic society...

I know this has all been hashed and rehashed time and time again but it needs to be addressed every now and then...

I leave you with this, why does Glen Beck hate America...

1. On the contrary...most of us are fighting Bush because we LOVE
America (or what it stands for, or USED to stand for, before these numbnuts seized power).

2. On the contrary, the reason you don't agree with his policy
means that you love America...

And you love her more, much more, than he ever could, or could imagine...

He loves (if you can use the word without feeling sick) money and power, probably in equal portions.

Freedom of speech could hardly be more pro-American!

And I agree...we do need to rehash these ideas now and then.

Otherwise, we forget their true meanings.
