Why the McClurkin issue will not be a Major MSM news story...
I can read in the various threads the numerous people just hoping that this becomes a major story so it will destroy Obama the way they want it to. Right now, this is viral on the internet and the talk of all the major Democrat/Liberal sites and blogs. In the future, it will remain that way and it's for various reasons.

1. Presidential Candidates should not be held accountable for other's views. The idea that Obama's campaign is at stake because a singer has said anti-gay things is laughable. I think the growing anti-Obama, Obama=homophobe crowd on DU just WANTS that. But it's highly unlikely because this is not likely to gain much national attention. If Obama doesn't get the nomination, I doubt it'll be because of this. The FACT is that this is a gospel concert and Donnie is a gospel singer. PERIOD! I've said ad nauseum that this is not a political forum or social meeting. Context for why McClurkin was signed on is needed, instead of this fake outrage and culture war bullshit.

2. Prez. Candidates are connected to all kinds of people. If you dig hard enough, you'll find endorsers and supporters (even though Donnie is neither with regards to Obama) who may have said all sorts of inflamming or bad things.

3. Frankly, the media is not going to attack a religious person. It may not be right, but Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson have said all kinds of outlandish and radical things and the most it was ever mentioned was in murmuring through the media.

1. Just "because a singer has said anti-gay things" ?
That shows an amazing lack of knowledge on your part.

2. If the MSM "favors" Hillary, then why would they not jump on it?

7. Hillary can't control who endorses her
She doesn't use homophobic endorsements to raise campaign money. Nice try though.

9. Slippery slope...
the whole point of endorsements is to raise money.

10. She doesn't have to accept the endorsement. But she did. Enthusiastically from what I've read.

3. Time to start drawing some pictures.
Because the words people have said here to refute the totally bogus idea that we GLBT people are out to "destroy" Senator Obama apparently are useless. His campaign made a colossally stupid blunder which we wish would be rectified by dumping the bigots involved in this event. That hasn't happened as of yet. Senator Obama is being asked to do this...since it IS his Presidential campaign. I don't know...who else do we try to talk to about this, since it's the Obama for President campaign? Howard Dean? Donna Brazile? Angelina Jolie?

4. That's where it seems to be going:
"GLBT people are out to "destroy" Senator Obama" and it only makes things worse.

11. We don't need the MSM.
We LGBTs have our own media (as do all minority groups regularly glossed over by the MSM), and believe me, buddy, this story is all over the gay press -- and it's the gay vote, and the votes of our families and friends, Obama has to worry about.

It really doesn't matter if or how the MSM covers it; the people actually impacted know all about it.

We're not so stupid as to think for one moment that the voters who never supported our rights in the first place are going to change their minds -- but there are plenty of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and trangendered voters who have changed their minds.

We do comprise 4%-5% of the voting population, you know (and you can extrapolate the number of our allies from that) -- although I'm quite aware that there are many who think that's just an insignificant drop in the bucket. (Funny, though, how it suddenly becomes a very significant number when it comes time again to blame the entire LGBT community for the 25% who vote Republican. Then we become an important voting bloc again. Crazy how that works, eh?)
