McClurikin will be playing for a pro-gay rights candidate. Maybe it will change some minds. I don't believe in the politics of exclusion. I believe in the politics of engagement. If we believe in our values strongly enough, we don't feel threatened by someone who doesn't share our values.

Obama is strong. I'm sad to say, many here on DU in that regard are weak. McClurkin is no threat. He's a confused gay man who had a tormented childhood. Have some sympathy and understanding, and be strong in your convictions.

That's my way, and it also apprears to be Obama's way. I may vote for him yet.
