Now DUers are calling out Obama about the race of the gay minister? Oh its pure politics now!
For the 100th time Obama's campaign fucked this one up, but on the DU its not longer about right and wrong, its no longer about civil rights its about pure politics.

When bullshit threads like this start you know what is up:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x3646420

To my DU brothers and sisters who are sincerely bothered by the McClurkin issue I continue to be ashamed of the way the Obama campaign handled this situation.

To the DUers who are using this as a political tool to destroy the man, have fun its quickly becoming apparent what your real motives are.

2. They hate religion! No, it's the Hillary supporters! No, it's because he's black!
For crying out loud. Can't anybody just admit that the reason is what it is?

Obama is promoting a homophobe. Unapologetically promoting a whole group of them, no less. And he just doesn't give a damn about what it does to LGBT Americans.

It has nothing to do with religion. It has nothing to do with Hillary. It has nothing to do with race.

IT'S THE HOMOPHOBIA, STUPID!

Why does Donnie McBigot support Obama?

4. The OP does nothing save quote Keith Boykin.
You really need to take it up with Boykin if you object to it--he is a BET broadcaster. And it is the front page on the guy's website: http://www.keithboykin.com/

And you'd probably be better off taking your concerns about the thread TO the thread, rather than starting a finger-pointer here. That's not helpful.

5. Oh come on!
If Hillary or Edwards had "screwed the pooch" instead of Obama, then the Obama supporters (and probably you) would be doing the same thing. Get down off your high horse unless you've never jumped on a campaign mistake of another candidate.

If you have jumped on campaign mistakes of other candidates, you're being a hypocrite.

. . .I have been pro Obama, not anti-any other candidate, so you can take your (and probably you) comment it and shove it up your ignorant shallow ass.

You assume that since I support Obama I attack other candidates and I don't. Your criticism of other Obama supporters is fair but I will not let you attempt to call me out for something I have not done in this election cycle. Go ahead, go through the god damned archives and attempt to back your accusation against me up.

Come on, I'm waiting.

Why are you the keeper of non-Obama supporters then?

Edited on Thu Oct-25-07 07:42 PM by cobalt1999
People jumping on Obama mistakes must be corrected by you. People jumping on other candidate mistakes are not.

I know it won't work with you, pointing out inconsistent behavior and double standards never does with hypocrites.

Your behavior has proven my point wonderfully.

29. I criticize my candidate when necessary and I protect my candidate when necessary. . .
. . .I don't attack other candidates and the fact that I don't police what others say about other candidates is not my problem. I'm sure more than a few supporters of other candidates do a good job protecting/defending their candidates.

So I am a hypocrite because even though I don't attack other candidates, I don't defend them either? LOL

8. I wish you wouldn't do this.
It was an AA blogger who raised this issue. I know there are some DUers who are using this as a way to push their own candidate, but I also know that there are more than that number who are genuinely angry and hurt by Obama's inclusion of this bigot. If we start connecting dots that aren't there, it only makes things worse.

You can't be black and gay. We get a white gay pastor up there and stick our heads in the sand about the prejudice in our community by perpetuating the idea that this "isn't our problem".

I respect your perspective. Maybe it would be a good idea if you contacted Rev. Dr. Otis Moss, Jr. of Olivet Institutional

Working Group.

Peace.

32. So who is extrapolating now? LOL
Since I have acknowledged this is a legitimate issue and acknowledged that I know there are a number of people sincerely upset about this, you know I'm not "tarring everyone who is pissed off about this."

This is a legitimate issue, but even legitimate issues can be exploited which is what many DUers are doing. Whoever is sincerely, pissed about it has every right to be, hell whoever is exploiting this has a right to. As I have right to question to the motives of supporters of other candidates who appear to be exploiting this issue.

If you want to feel better about yourself by assuming I'm "tarring everyone who is pissed off about this" go right ahead, I can't stop you. LOL
