NYC Councilman James Oddo Goes Nuts
NEW YORK — New York City Councilman James Oddo may have had a meltdown during his first experience with gotcha satire media, but he wasn’t about to go down without a fight.

Dropping the “f-word” no fewer than 16 times in the course of what has become a popular You Tube video, Republican Oddo became irate when he realized the attractive, seemingly harmless young reporter who sat before him last week for an interview in his office was really a comedienne of note for the Norwegian program Rickets Rost, a sort of Scandinavian Daily Show w/Jon Stewart.

Just think we pay his salary, he seems so honorable.

1. All things considered, I thought his reaction was appropriate
I too was offended by the questions.

7. I don't generally
see people act that way in their place of work. Its called having a bit of a rage problem. Nothing wrong with ending the interview of course.

12. By New York standards it was pretty tame
Having lived in the South for nearly 30 years, I can understand how you would see it differently.

:hi:

2. Oddo has to walk backwards to reach nuts
He's way past nuts

His signature issue - protecting children from the dangers of non-wood bats. He wants them banned

4. that isn't a totally nutty issue
I am no baseball expert but I have repeatedly heard that metal bats cause an immense problem with baseballs hitting players way too hard and causing injury.

6. It's been debunked
By itself, it's not nutty. But Oddo has had scientist after scientist testify that the increased ball-speed that metal bats cause has NOT made the game any less safe. Oddo arranges for these scientists to testify about the dangers of metal bats, the scientists testify that the only reason to ban the bats is if you want to reduce the # of out of the park home runs, and that they pose no safety risk

And then, when they're done testifying, Oddo makes a speech along the lines of "You see? Even the scientists agree with me that the bats should be banned".

5. I didn't think it was that bad...
You know, the NYC taxpayers DO pay his salary, so why be offended when he gets upset about someone wasting his time (that you're payin for?).

Then again I've been known to be pretty loose with the f-bomb myself so...

Guy's got a rage problem!

I would have said "I'm sorry, this interview is way past being over, goodbye now!"

10. His response was appropriate
for a junkyard dog, not a member of the City Council

11. Ok ok...
I was listening at work and must have missed that part, I didn't have it up extremely loud and turned it off after he repeated "get the fuck out of my office" a couple hundred times! I heard him say "before I throw you out", which i didn't take him to mean literally.

If he threatened someone with beating them, you are right, that would be a problem.

9. Imagaine if you treated somone like that at your office or job.
He is an elected official and to act like that is just insane. I would lose my job if I acted like that to someone at my place of work.
