MSNBC now; everyone's a complete failure and has no chance of
winning, except Clinton. :eyes:

It's pretty amazing. Don't tell me there's no concerted effort by the media to get this meme out.
And this is Ana Marie Cox, Mike Barnacle, and that schill from the Hill, A.B?. Stoddard.

I might as well stop watching and give these eyes a rest. It's a done deal!

were also talking about Edwards, but they DID say "too little too late" about Obama, too.

There hasn't been one going on for over 2 years. That is to say that the corporate shills in the old Democratic party as well as the DLC and the professional pundits believe Hill can win and repress any popular uprising.

15. The MSM are waiting for Dem Voters to get mad.......
and vote for someone other than Clinton. They are setting this up.....and are working hard at this goal. They know the reaction to these "Clinton is way ahead" pronouncements will generate an opposite reaction. They are manipulating Dem voters like puppets. Sad thing, is that many don't even realize what is going on.

19. Their job is to manipulate and shape opinion........
Edited on Tue Oct-30-07 02:27 PM by FrenchieCat
and that is what they do. However, they rarely are as transparent as we think they are. Considering how loud and how long they are screaming "inevitibility" prior to any vote being cast...it is my belief that they are betting on a revolt.....in particular with those First states voteres who have never appreciated anyone predicting how the election will come out ahead of time.

The MSM were defeated by the Clinton last time they tried to get rid of them......and this will be big time payback. Those who believe that the media is "FOR" Hillary are fooling themselves. The Clintons have been the nemeses of the media for years. The media finally has the chance to "WIN" and to put the Clintons in their place.....and so they, with the help of Democratic voters, this is is exactly what they plan on doing.

I too would like to see straight reporting.......but I realize that it will not happen...because power is too valuable to give up.

26. That didn't used to be their job. I do remember Huntley and Brinkley,
Walter Cronkite, etc. I don't recall this level of personal involvement, though I recognize the 24/7 news cycles lend to this nasty development. Sigh. Give me an hour or two a day of "REAL" news and I'd be happy. I guess that's too much to ask.

And I didn't realize the msm had it in for the Clintons. Seems to me they did a pretty good job of excoriating Bill when he so richly deserved it for lying. They still do...

Clinton's ass......as he was being burned alive by the media 24/7 which is what led to his impeachment.

I don't remember the MSM attempting to "Save" Clinton in any way.

35. The Clintons beat them at their own game......and if the MSM can Beat them now,
It will justify their rabidness of that time. In otherwords, they will finally feel justified to have pursued them in the first place. Makes the MSM look that much more "credible".....as they lost a lot of their credibility during that whole impeachment undertaking.

37. Corporate media has only a couple of priorities.......
Use their power to get what they want, while looking like they are doing what they should.

Whomever makes them look bad will suffer their wrath....cause at the end of the day, the only way that they can keep power is to continue to appear credible to as many people as they can.

44. I was just making a general comment. It is more than a year until
the election and the press has sewn it up. I am still undecided. And even those that have decided may change their minds. All this crystal ball gazing has me disgusted and wondering why the M$M is reporting "maybe" as a done deal. Wasn't it Yogi Berra who said it ain't over 'til it's over.

They should be focusing on issues, not predictions.

29. A silly poll regarding Halloween costumes was revealing.

I think it was on Olbermann but not sure, really. The poll question asked which presidential candidate would be the spookiest costume.

Hillary won and Giuliani came in second.

In my opinion, the MSM is clearing the decks for what they perceive to be a rock 'em, sock 'em event, yet again revealing the MSM priority is entertainment and not actual reporting news. Feh.

40. Their spin would be outlandish if this wasn't the agreed on establishment meme.
Yesterday, Matthews thought Obama and Edwards had a chance to really damage Hillary tonight. Suddenly, every talking head is saying it's too late. What it boils down to imho is that however fantastically Obama and/or Edwards might do tonight and however much Hillary talks around every question, they'll proclaim her the winner and tell the public that everyone else might as well pack up their campaigns and go home. Unfortunately, people think these creeps are the experts and tend to go along like sheep. The only thing they're expert in is spinning the beltway/corporatist line. This is feeling exactly like the Gore/Bush debate where Bush was being proclaimed the winner because Gore sighed. The polls no longer reflect anything except how well the corporate spin has worked with the electorate. Judging by the national polling so far, it's worked very well indeed.

would slingshot with momentum. He totally dismissed Obama and said Hillary has it sewn up. Then his real agenda came through-he asked if people thought Giuliani could take PA and other states like that from Hillary, and he concluded Giuliani CAN, because these people like gritty, tough politicians like Rudy. :eyes:
