Obama and Clinton just lost the GENERAL election from that debate
thats my opinion this issue of Illegals getting drivers license is a killer i hate to say this and I like both of them but the rethugs will KILL either of them on this issue.

Senator Clinton did not endorse Spitzer's plan. She simply said she understood what he was trying to do...which is bring the illegals out of the shadows, so New York knows who it has on its streets. She was basically saying he was trying to step up and tackle the issue of immigration, since the Bushies haven't.

She simply said that she could understand why Spitzer was wanting to do it; in order to bring the illegals out of the shadows.

7. I don't think that the one issue will be the tell all ie: Illegals getting drivers license...But..
a combination of issues may very well go against both of these candidates.

13. Oh fer god's sake, it's one state with one plan. It's a way to document
who's here, more than anything else. It IS a public safety issue--I don't think it's necessarily a negative, because denying them licenses isn't going to make the illegal problem go away.

37. They don't check for immigration status at an accident scene.
They make sure everyone is okay, then they check for licenses and insurance.

Most police officers here in AZ don't honestly give a crap about immigration status. There are laws pending to make them go after suspected undocumented aliens but every police department in the state (with the exception of Maricopa County Sheriff's department, led by that showboating celebrity nitwit Joe Arpaio) are adamantly opposed to them. Oddly enough, the REAL cops think that public safety is more important than hassling cooks, maids, and landscapers. Go figure.

one of the issues that inflamed CA voters was the legislation that he signed giving licenses to illegal immigrants.

Iraq, healthcare, the economy, and global warming are enough on the issue platter to make people still for a Dem president, but I must say, of all issues, this will do the most damage to our nominee depending on their stance. If you're Clinton or Obama, you're a bit screwed.
