2. Depends--Mike Gravel vs. McCain--I'd go with McCain. Yes, that's right.

10. I don't think Gravel would be able to pass the flat tax, though.
If the congressional Republicans were up for such a thing, they would have passed it sometime between 2003 and 2007 when they had control of both houses.

11. I dont' think anybody will, anytime soon. The tax code is something
people LOVE to bitch about, but actually get serious about making sweeping changes and people get nervous.

28. So why be afraid of Gravel?
Edited on Thu Nov-01-07 05:34 PM by LoZoccolo
That seems like the idea of his that people bring up as being his most dangerous. I don't know much about him, admittedly.

31. No.
But if I did, I think we'd both be glad that the Gravel question is purely academic, lol.

22. Gravel scares me, but so does McCain
I think I would just not vote if Gravel was our nominee. I thought the same thing with Lieberman.

12. depends on how you look at it
For instance, Ron Paul wants to shut down the Department of Education, so do you count that against him or do you assume he can't get that passed and forget he even said that?

15. Absolutely!
There isn't a single GOP candidate that I could even DREAM of voting for! They're all THAT awful, and they all know it. That's why they're helping to turn Hillary into the frontrunner--she'll be easiest to beat, and through her DLC ties, easiest to control if she wins anyway. Say, maybe they've ALREADY cut a deal with her!

27. Any of our candidates would make a better pres than any of theirs...
Some of ours are more progressive than others and would lead us further toward our potential as a nation ~ but any of theirs would be like going back to the 50s. Throwbacks, one and all!
