I really want the U.S. to have a female president...
That said, I'm concerned about Hillary Clinton's relationship with corporate America and her positions on Iraq and Iran, some very big issues that will continue to impact our country in big ways.

I'm more aligned with Dennis Kucinich on the issues ~ and yet I know that a female candidate who took the same positions would be even more ridiculed and sidelined than DK has been.

So, I'm wondering if there is more to be gained in finally electing a female president than there is to lose in her hawkish middle-of-road politics. Can't say that I envy Iowans this time 'round!

1. Ditto.
I'd love to have a woman as president - but not one who embraces war, torture, and wholesale outsourcing of jobs.

11. I'd like to know when and where Hillary
said she embraced war, torture and wholesale outsourcing of jobs. It's misleading statements like this that many people believe for fact. Which in deed is not fact.

12. Sad, But True
1. She voted for a war that was utterly unnecessary. She embraced war.
2. She has said that torture is permissible in some circumstances.
3. Her husband rammed permanent "free" trade status with China through Congress. Clinton was a candidate at the time, and she's on record as being for it.

2. I'm cool with a female president
I just wish it were Barbara Boxer.
I am just not a fan of Hillary and not because she is a woman. I have many issues with her.

Boxer's great, and I'm proud to have her as a Senator, but she's too liberal to have a chance.

6. You should be concerned.
She isn't a populist, she is stumping for votes.

Follow the money.

She and DK are about as far apart as any two people can possibly be.

8. Yes, ask "The Labor Party" Brits what they think of Margaret Thatcher?
Sometimes it's better to wait for the CORRECT role model.

9. We could have a female president by July 2008
Her name would be Nancy Pelosi. If we impeached Bush and Cheney, we'd have our wish.

13. I can't tell you how much I'd like to see a woman finally in the WH
But I'm pretty cool to the idea of THIS woman there.

I'm tired of non-positions, and focus-grouped answers. I'm tired of "safe" everything.

And right now, as Pakistan joins the rest of the middle-east and southwest Asian corner of the world in going completely to hell, we SO need someone with real experience and smarts in foreign policy.

Frankly, not a one of our "front-runners" has it. The "second-tier" candidates do, almost in excess.

I am desperate to see us with a president we can trust once again. I just can't summon those feelings for Clinton.

16. Some of this "sexism" is that some of us expected more from a woman candidate than
we get with Hillary.

The attributes that are best exemplified in women are not readily apparent in Hillary,

I don't need someone "tough" in foreign policy as much as I need someone smart and "correct" on the issues.
