I will stop criticizing Kucinich when everyone else stops criticizing Obama, Clinton, and Edwards.
I would like to extend this offer to everyone. I promise that I won't say anything negative about Dennis Kucinich for as long as people don't do this to these three candidates. If we go a day without criticism of Obama, Clinton, and Edwards, I will return the favor with a criticism-free day for Dennis Kucinich.

4. That is basically what I am saying.
You and I both know that there is no reason to criticize the top three candidates and that people are doing it just for fun. I will stop criticizing Kucinich for its own sake when people do the same for Obama, Clinton, and Edwards.

2. But... but...
This IS politics, after all! It has always been so... politics are filthy. I've been laughing a lot around here lately... all the insistence that we should be civil... so silly.

5. Huge DK backer here
and frankly, you can say whatever you want whenever you want about him. It bothers me not at all.

Nor does criticism of any of the other candidates.

7. The same reason people are criticizing the rest of the lot: just for fun.
There could not possibly be any reason to criticize any of these candidates.

8. You know there are 110,246 members here at DU
Edited on Mon Nov-05-07 07:04 PM by Az
And I do not see 110,246 comments criticizing Obama, Clinton, and Edwards in each post regarding them. Do you suppose its just a vocal minority that are fussing and fighting? Maybe you should ease off a bit and relax.

9. Sure, but you see even less people criticizing Kucinich.
It all seems to work out in a proportional sense.

10. Maybe you see even fewer people criticizing Kucinich because
he and his ideas, rather than more corporate candidates, are what this country and this world need, and because many people on DU, being more intelligent than average, recognize this.

15. I'm seriously wondering if LoZoccolo is a parody of the...
"moderate" or "centrist" Democratic loyalist. He acts batshit insane 99% of the time.

17. I can see why you would think that I act batshit insane.
I know I have a habit of seriously losing it and using curse words and personally attacking people despite repeatedly getting my posts deleted, but that is just me, not any sort of act. It is a problem of mine that I have serious anger management issues which prevent me from following the rules of this board, not any sort of parody. I am working on that though, so don't give up on me just yet.

19. Don't take politics so personally...
I usually stay detached from the fray by taking on policies, not politicians themselves. The only major exception was the McClurkin fiasco, but even then, I was more pissed at the behavior of the Obamaites on DU than I was at the Obama campaign. Granted, that itself changed over the course of the 2 week long controversy, and I probably had my biggest run of deleted posts in 6 years, even a deleted thread, all calling out homophobes on their posts.

22. Good to hear. I was just kidding, though.
I rarely ever get posts deleted.

Some of my Nader posts are very serious, some of them are obviously somewhat satirical. I do think an element of humor is appropriate because I think the initial idea that change can be affected through self-destructive threats is absurd to begin with. I call their bluff, in a way, and add more absurdity in response to an already absurd idea. I think sometimes I am just showing off my sense of humor and trying to gain notoriety as the anti-Nader point man, but I take the threat of spoilers very seriously and want people to know that manipulative threats won't be met with the kind of response one wants.

18. have fun with that
but i think most of the criticism directed at clinton/obama/edwards is from the clinton/obama/edwards camps. I'm an equal opportunity criticizer. i KNOW dennis is the best, so the rest of you by default suck.

25. I'm glad you're criticizing him.
This was Lord Nader's plan all along! My Sweet Master knows all and sees all. It is just as he foresaw!

By taking down Kucinich, nothing will stand between us and our plan to steal less than 2% of the vote -just enough to throw the elections to our overlords, the Republicans!

Ha ha ha hee hee hee hoo hoo hoo ho ho ho he he he he!!

26. I actually think right-wing third parties will offset any Nader effect this time.
You have religious right voters who do not have an anti-abortion candidate, coupled with people questioning whether or not they are really Republicans or Libertarians in the wake of Bush*. I'm not sure of it, though, so Nader - and Naderism - have to be continually exposed.
