My small but gratifying protest
I walked into a local mom and pop sandwich shop with my wife and son. When we sat down I was facing a picture on the wall of George and Laura with an inscription thanking the owners of the restaurant for their support that delivered the moron to the WH for a second term. There was also some sort of plaque that honored them for some other republican award.

We sat there for a minute talking about how much contempt we felt for someone displaying that at their place of business. I told my wife that I didn't care if they were the best sandwiches in the world, I wasn't eating there. She wholeheartedly agreed.

As we were getting up to leave, the waitress came over to take our order. She said she was sorry for the wait and that she could take our order now. I told her we were offended by the wall decor and were leaving. She stated that her parents (the owners) were big supporters and that we shouldn't leave because of that. I said that the Dixie Chicks received death threats and were banned by many radio stations. The least we could do was boycott her parents sandwich shop. She said it was our loss. I smiled at her and said "unfortunately one day you will realize that your parent's support of Bush contributed to a presidency that will harm you and your future family in a profound way; have a nice day."

I would have gotten up and left, also, but I like the reasons for leaving that you gave the daughter. Well done!!

7. Thanks, I would have rather taken on the parents but they must
have been off shopping while their daughter was left to tend the restaurant. Hopefully she will convey the message.

2. nice!
sometimes, i do little protests like that. Most of the time, no one notices.

This is not political ... about a year ago, I was house-hunting (still at it!) but feeling very discouraged by the prices. There was one quirky house in my neighborhood that I liked, for sale but with an asking price of 1/2 million, it was way out of my reach. Nothing fancy about it. 3 bdrm rancher on lot less than 1/2 acre. I was pissed. At the time, I was having mouse problems in my apartment (still am!). At 1 am, I found a little mouse in the live trap. As a protest, I released the mouse right in front of the house. But, as I said, it was 1am, no one was around to witness my protest. Only the mouse and I knew about it and the mouse didn't give a rat's ass -- it was just happy to be free!

10. Good luck. Hopefully prices will continue to edge downwards - and then
If interest rates go up, some motivated seller will offer the buyer help with the financing - in other words, they'll finance your payments to them themselves.

Don't get scared into it.

3. Nice work! In what part of the country do you live?
I'm absolutely dumbfounded that ANYONE out there, even the rabid, frothing 29%ers still support Bush, but even more shocking is that they will ADMIT it - and plaster photographic evidence of their insanity all over the walls of their business, thus alienating the other 71% of the population, and losing money.

My god.

8. Ah yes...
Is it rough for you living among the "faithful?" Or are you able to successfully tune them out most of the time?

Kudos to you for standing up for what's right!

9. It's Ron Paul big time down here in FL.
Folks are still slanted against Democrats for the most part of right wing radio ya know, I'm sure,
but they are sure fed up with this administration good on them! he's the best candidate they have in my opinion, but than again, if only we could verify the votes! and that is what we're up against.
