We settled the question of torture some years ago, but here we are under the Bush administration, having an allegedly serious discussion about, "Well gee, is torture really torture?"
The answer that's being proffered is that torture is decidedly not torture if you can convince enough people to be wet-your-pants scared of every little shadow and noise that happens around them. We'll see if Sen. Schumer is right about his newest, bestest Attorney General buddy next week when the referral comes from the House to hold the White House contempt.
I'm going to guess that Mukasey will prove to be another toady who places short-term political considerations above all else, and Schumer will swallow another line of administration bullshit, smack his lips, and pronounce it to be delicious filet mignon. Again.
