Report from my NJ polling place...

I voted about half an hour ago. Even though there are no state wide races in NJ this time around, the turnout has been very heavy -more than double the normal turnout for an off year election. I even had to wait in line for about three minutes, which never happens...I smell change in the air. I live in Bergen County, NJ which is divided pretty fairly between Democrats and Republicans, but I see that many of the repukes have had enough - we were a "moderate" Republican area anyway, so my guess is that only the hard core GOP supporters are left and most of the moderates will be voting Dem.

2. That's great news. I hope you're right.

I heard on Channel 6 (WPVI) news this morning that the Repubs in NJ and PA were hoping to 'take over' the state houses/assembly. He was urging everyone to get out and vote - to not let the rain stop them. I thought the use of the words 'take over' was appropo.
