2. I bet Merkel was packing some mace just in case Dubya got fresh again.
Also, I wonder if maybe someone could work with the president on basic posture.

John Kennedy was often in acute pain owing to his medical condition, but he appeared in public as a stand-tall kind of leader.

I'm not getting that from Dubya. Dubya leans on his podium, he slouches in those conference chair photos in the White House, he bangs around in a damn truck. Message: "Pay no attention to my New England upbringing and Ivy League connections; I'm a brush-clearin' cowboy from the Texas frontier."
