16. Yup!
Clinton-Edwards/Matter-Antimatter: :nuke:

Disclaimer: Figurative nuke only. Your perspective may vary. I like and respect Edwards and all the other candidates... and have vowed to enthusiastically support the final Democratic nominee.

In the meantime, I'm 100% behind my guy in this horse race!

:kick:

2. I Think Clinton's Out Of Her League
She's got a rabid velociraptor going after her soft, soft underbelly. I'll be impressed if she can OmniSpeak her way out of this.

6. Yeah right. If she wanted to, she could have Pouty crying his eyes out on stage.
So far she's been merciful toward him. After what happened to him at the Mellencamp concert when he got booed off the stage last week, she might just take some pity on him instead. It's a hard call. Should be interesting.

Its hard to make someone cry as you refer to your crib notes.

7. I agree.
I'd love to see her take the gloves off, but it may not be in her best interest to get too negative. She'll probably throw in a few digs, but I don't expect much more than that.

She could clobber him if she wanted too, I don't doubt that for a second.

narrowing down the field of candidates?

It's a shame they aren't getting along any more.

11. Hillary will have her claws out tomorrow.
Hillary is best served by showing she can slug it out, than by whining, or blaming the media, or worst yet, have her philandering husband come to her rescue.

Show them you got claws, and that you are willing to use them, Hillary!

with a slight smile, three of four words assembled in the right order will take them out at the knees.

22. Exactly
She's not going to confront him unless she percieves him to be a real threat. He barely polls high enough to be considered first tier.

she can't let them try to take her apart again without a fight. I just don't think she'll start the attacks.

27. I agree, all she'd have to do is point a fly swatter at Edwards
and he'll cringe saying,..."not the hair!"

Neither Obama or Edwards could be mistaken for the Marlboro Man.

29. I also agree with you. Part of her mystique is that she has an uncanny ability to fight back
The only problem for her is that she's not quite as used to punching back at her own people as she is to all the rightwing nutjobs that she's leveled in the past, but if Edwards continues with his foolish ways, Hillary will have no alternative to strike back so his ridiculous charges don't stick.

18. Maybe She'll Treat Him Like Kerry After the Botched Joke
Give him the ole swift boat treatment...

Times Herald-Record
November 02, 2006

Sen. John Kerry was the only Democrat Sen. Hillary Clinton didn't have kind words for at a campaign stop here yesterday.

Clinton said Kerry's now-infamous "joke" about how college students can avoid a tour of duty in Iraq was "inappropriate."

http://www.recordonline.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20061102/NEWS/611020323

She really gave him a nice uppercut in the immediate run up to the midterm elections. Of course, now that she is the frontrunner, she wants Democrats to love each other.

At least Edwards is playing fair and saying it to her face, instead of stabbing her in the back (at the expense of the Dems running in the midterm elections).

21. That wasn't the best thing she could have said,
but Howard Dean made two statements about the joke, and the first one was almost exactly the same as Clinton's. I've yet to see him taken apart for it.

I thought it was a mis-statement btw, not a joke.

except to rebut if she thinks that he's misrepresenting something that she has said. I do wish that she let the hypocritical guy have it (hedge funds, Johnny?), but I think that she'll resist the impulse........for now.

they say, when someone is blinking while they are talking, they are not telling the Truth.

My number is '649' for the blinker.

31. I'm not being snarky, (well maybe a little)
but Edwards has so many tics that I find myself turning away during close-ups. I know that Hillary's voice gets on some people's nerves, but for me it's Edwards' inflection up at the end of sentences that aren't questions. He does it all the time lol. It's funny how different these silly irritations are around here, if Clinton's voice wasn't such a hot topic, I wouldn't have brought it up.

33. Well Trippi's game is to inflate Edwards
into Clinton's main opposition, so the more she ignores him, the more he attacks. This time she has to counter-attack because he's building his ad campaign around a distortion of her statements & policies.

Obama better wake up to Edwards' strategy, he can do real damage without causing too much backlash IMO, but he shouldn't let Edwards overtake him. It might hurt him to tag-team Clinton again, those attacks have got to be close to the saturation point, no?
