3. Kucinch... More proof he should not be President...
Another being his first SCHIP vote. If he's willing to sacrifice pragmatism over idealism, we'll only get a left-wing version of Chimpy.

7. "Don't let perfect be the enemy of good." - Dean
Kucinich could learn something from the quote. I think Dennis is right on most of the issues, but I am glad he won't be President.

5. Non-binding does nothing.
It's just like the leadership to allow such a vote. Good for Dennis for voting against it!

Go Dennis! :woohoo:

9. non-binding shows .........unity........
Dennis wants his way and his way only.he did this on the 1st SCHIP bill also..........one has to give and take in the House.....if this would have been in the Senate and say.Clinton.. Biden ....Obamba did this....some people would be up in arms...even though its non binding.......

15. Non-binding
means that if the bill passes in it's current form W doesn't have to do anything besides spend the money on the war (I guess there's a 1/infinity chance he'd folllow the non-binding part). For all intents and purpose, it's a funding bill. Dennis has voted against all of the funding bill. You can imagine how people would be beating him down if he changed now.

6. Jeez, here we go...don't start bashing Dennis.....
Dennis wants out of Iraq NOW.....look at the withdrawl date in this bill?
If ya don't like Dennis then say so...but if he voted with this bill he would be accused of "flip-flopping" and he didn't vote for SCHIP because he wanted ALL children included.....(and that is a BAD thing?)
The man has more integrity than all of them combined...period.
Now, this is DU...last I looked Dennis is a Dem, we're all here for the common cause....hellloooo???

11. Good for DK!
He's been very consistent on this issue and will not vote for any bill that continues to fund this illegal war. Cut the funding. End the war.

12. the bill also included Torture and abuse
The Iraq funding measure revises the Army Field Manual to prohibit torture and abuse, including waterboarding, and authorizes an array of specific interrogation tactics. It specifically states that CIA operatives must adhere to these rules as well.

“The House of Representatives made great progress last night by passing legislation that reinforces the ban on torture and abuse by any government body or official,” said Caroline Fredrickson, director of the ACLU Washington Legislative Office, in a release. “This could end the CIA’s use of torture if signed into law. America does not stand for torture and Americans can now know that no element of our government is engaged in torture. This will begin to restore America’s tarnished image at home and abroad.”

what say you now? Does that suggest the 12 Democrats and GOP'ers approve of Torture?.......or does it say they never read the bill?

14. It says that there were a few good things
in a bill that was, overall, weak; and was a wimpy-assed attempt at a stunt in the first place.

16. The bill is pretty much political posturing.
I wouldn't continue the sham either. I wouldn't vote for anymore war spending bills until there was a change in policy.
